The name Fiona did not exist before then, at least not in our world. None of these myths, legends, gods, or goddesses were known to humans prior to Fiona’s revelations.   Steve Blamires presents those concepts in his new book, The Confessions of Fiona.   The Battle of Waterloo on June 18, 1815 was Napoleon Bonaparte's last battle. It took place around 15 km south of Brussels near the village of Waterloo, then part of the Kingdom of the United Netherlands and now in Belgium. The defeat of the French led by Napoleon against the Allied troops under the English General Wellington and the Prussian Field Marshal Blücher ended Napoleon's rule of the Hundred Days and led to the end of the French Empire with his final abdication on June 22, 1815. After this second total military defeat in a short period of time, tightened peace terms were imposed on France in the Second Peace of Paris. Napoleon himself was taken as a prisoner of war by the British to the Atlantic island of St. Helena, where he died in exile on May 5, 1821. The idiom "to experience one's Waterloo" as a synonym for a total defeat has its origin in this battle.

  The Gilded Age was a period in American history that covered the late 19th century, from the 1870s till around 1900. The Gilded Age was a period of great financial development in the United States, specifically in the North and West. The time saw an increase of countless European immigrants as American incomes were considerably higher than those in Europe, specifically for experienced workers, while industrialization demanded an ever-increasing common labor force. 
  Between 1860 and 1890, the quick growth of market led to a sixty percent boost in real salaries, which was dispersed over an ever-increasing manpower. The typical annual wage for a commercial worker (consisting of men, women, and kids) increased by 48 percent from $380 in 1880 to $564 in 1890. On the other hand, the Gilded Age was also a time of severe poverty and inequality, as countless immigrants-- many from poor parts-- gathered to the United States, bringing with them a high concentration of wealth that ended up being more obvious and controversial.
