Sinossi

City streets break the weak. The vice and violence compel men and women to swear an oath to protect the most vulnerable in society.

To swim amidst the criminal tide, a police officer needs courage and conviction. To thrive in a department corrupt to the core, a police officer needs to think and move like a criminal.

Two men, Billy Tanarat and Samiel Deboch, operate on opposite ends of the planet, yet are connected by their positions... and the deadly games played by their superiors.

Soon, destinies collide and ancient tales and dark rituals come alive, unveiling a world where nothing is as it seems, and where old superstitions awaken to challenge the brave and the corrupt alike.

They say she's a murderer. She says nothing.

London, 1954. Eva Georgiou has just returned from her shift at the glamorous Café de Paris, when she's summoned to her second job: Greek interpreter for the Metropolitan Police. There, she is tasked with representing Zina Pavlou, a Cypriot woman who has been accused of the brutal murder of her daughter-in-law who has been bludgeoned, strangled and then set alight.

Eva gets to work as Zina's translator, but her concern grows that the case may be more complicated than it seems. Then Zina changes everything when she reveals she's been accused of murder once before, years ago in Cyprus.

While Eva's obsession with the case deepens, so does her bond with Zina. And soon she will discover that when you lend your voice to an accused murderer, it comes at a devastating cost.

Mary Eleanor Wilkins Freeman was born in Randolph, Massachusetts on the 31st October 1852 to parents who were strict and orthodox Congregationalists.

When she was a teenager the family moved to Brattleboro, Vermont and it was there she finished her education and began writing verse and stories for children.

When the family’s dry-goods store closed in 1873 the family, now impoverished, returned to Randolph where her mother was to die mother three years later.

She published ‘The Ghost Story’ in 1881 after it won a short story competition. With elements of the supernatural and domestic realism she had hit upon a solid formula for success.

Two years later her father died and with no immediate family and only a small estate she now committed to writing full-time to secure an income. For the times it was a brave move but her undoubted talent meant success would follow.

Over her career she published more than two dozen volumes of short stories and novels and is most well-known for ‘A New England Nun’. Her works were mainly set in New England and many of her female characters are strong and assertive, challenging contemporary stereotypes over their then roles, values and relationships in society. As a feminist she was keen to engage her audience in a discussion about the lack of control women had over many issues including the family finances.

A meeting with the younger Dr. Charles Manning Freeman began a slow, decade long, courtship that endured many obstacles and delays until they eventually married on New Years Day, 1902.

They built a home in Metuchen, where Mary was something of a local celebrity. Sadly her husband suffered from alcoholism and addiction to sleeping powders, fast horses and was also prone to womanizing. He was committed to the New Jersey State Hospital for the Insane and with that the couple separated. After his death in 1923, he left his estate to his chauffeur and one dollar to Mary.

On 13th March 1930, Mary E Wilkins Freeman suffered a fatal heart attack in Metuchen. She was 77.

A Deadly Data Breach. A Triple Homicide. One File Worth Killing For.
From the award-winning Mike Stoneman Thriller series comes Book #7 — a gripping crime thriller set in the heart of a frozen New York City.
When electronics store owner Lou Palazzo is gunned down at a snowy Manhattan intersection, NYPD homicide detectives Mike Stoneman and Jason Dickson catch a case that’s anything but ordinary. Back at Lou’s shop, two Chinese nationals linked to a powerful Shanghai cybercrime ring are dead. The only clue? A missing laptop computer, possibly containing something Lou was willing to die to protect.
Meanwhile, NYU student Ryan Gelb is panicking. His hacked laptop held the stolen university data — data he quietly gave to his Uncle Lou. Now Lou is dead, and whoever killed him is coming for the file. . . and for Ryan.
Caught between international cybercriminals, New York mobsters, and the police, Ryan is desperate to recover the file and avoid being expelled — or worse, executed.
As Mike and Jason untangle a web of secrets, lies, and digital deception, they're met with stonewalling from all sides: NYU won’t talk, witnesses are hiding the truth, and even their closest allies are keeping dangerous secrets.
With the body count rising and a deadly showdown looming, the race is on to solve the mystery, recover the missing file, and avoid turning Lower Manhattan into a bloodbath.
Perfect for fans of Michael Connelly, John Sandford, and David Baldacci, this high-stakes police procedural mixes hard-boiled action, cybercrime intrigue, and unforgettable characters in a page-turning thriller you won’t be able to put down.

    A SEVERED HEAD

After a South London man is shot and killed at home, his wife swears that the offender had no feet. Even stranger, when a teacher is murdered at a local school, her pupils insist they saw disembodied feet dangling from their classroom ceiling. All across the country, victims claim the assailant was missing a body part, while others stumble upon the severed appendages.

    A SUPERNATURAL CASE

It's clear these murders are neither straightforward nor easily explained, which means there are only two people fit to investigate: DS Jamila Patel and DC Jerry Pardoe, who are used to tracking spirits intent on causing mayhem.

And when two children go missing – finding themselves lost in another time period altogether – the investigation will lead to the discovery of a violent entity. One who has been killing for much longer than anyone first realised... And has no plans to stop.
