"PARENTING MAGAZINE RECOMMENDED! Discover the magical world of Robert Stanek's Bugville Critters! Stanek, acclaimed author of the popular children's books The Kingdoms and the Elves of the Reaches and Journey Beyond the Beyond, has selected an irresistible combination for this age group: loveable critters and baseball. The Bugville Critters stories address all the major issues of growing up and are designed to appeal to the ever-growing interests of children three to eight years old. The stories combine facts about our natural world with fictional stories that instruct and entertain. Robert Stanek wrote The Bugville Critters books as bedtime stories for his children. His children enjoyed the stories so much they urged him to bring his stories to life for other children to enjoy, and that is what he set out to do. This production, great for younger listeners, includes three Stanek favorites: Start Summer Vacation, Save Their Allowance, and Visit the Library. Also included are special letters from Buster to listeners. In the first story, Buster Bee has mixed feelings about starting summer vacation. He worries about his teacher, school, and his friends. Along the way, he learns the importance of the changes in every day life that occur as you grow up. In the second story, Lass Ladybug and Buster Bee come up with a plan to earn some money so that they can buy rollerblades. The two bugs build a lemonade stand to sell lemonade, then they try babysitting with some hilarious results. In the third story, Buster Bee and his friends are going to the library to return books they’ve finished reading and find new ones. Along the way, Buster and his friends discover many things about books and libraries. What are you waiting for? Join us on a journey to Bugville where you'll meet Buster Bee and all his friends.

This title chronicles the song and dance genius of the King of Pop, whose recent death reinforced the level of his global influence and stardom. While covering controversies and oddities - from the trial on molestation charges to his cosmetic surgeries to his amusement-park house Neverland, the book also details his incredible songs, videos, work habits, childhood, and groundbreaking career. Jackson's music is still popular with young people, especially with the convenience of MP3 downloads and the enthusiasm passed down from older fans.Lives Cut Short is a series in Essential Library, an imprint of ABDO Publishing Company.

The Eyes Have It by Philip K. Dick - A little whimsy, now and then, makes for good balance. Theoretically, you could find this type of humor anywhere. But only a topflight science-fictionist, we thought, could have written this story, in just this way…
It was quite by accident I discovered this incredible invasion of Earth by lifeforms from another planet. As yet, I haven’t done anything about it; I can’t think of anything to do. I wrote to the Government, and they sent back a pamphlet on the repair and maintenance of frame houses. Anyhow, the whole thing is known; I’m not the first to discover it. Maybe it’s even under control.
I was sitting in my easy-chair, idly turning the pages of a paperbacked book someone had left on the bus, when I came across the reference that first put me on the trail. For a moment I didn’t respond. It took some time for the full import to sink in. After I’d comprehended, it seemed odd I hadn’t noticed it right away.
The reference was clearly to a nonhuman species of incredible properties, not indigenous to Earth. A species, I hasten to point out, customarily masquerading as ordinary human beings. Their disguise, however, became transparent in the face of the following observations by the author. It was at once obvious the author knew everything. Knew everything — and was taking it in his stride. The line (and I tremble remembering it even now) read:… his eyes slowly roved about the room.
