Zurk by Richard O. Lewis - Gentle Marene was next when the black space cruiser called for its youth-levy. If only Zurk would spark to life—Zurk, this huge, part-human war-machine of tubular steel muscles and blank, mechanical mind.
There was both agony and defeat etched deeply into Guyard's lean face as he stood there in the center of the hidden, attic laboratory. His fists were clinched tightly at his sides and his hollow eyes were staring tensely and with supplication at the steel monstrosity before him.
"Zurk, you must save her!" he pleaded. "You must save Marene!"
Zurk, the man of steel, made no move. He sat there expressionless, his electric-cell eyes staring out through the small window at the far end of the laboratory.
Year after year, the steel giant had sat there staring through that window, staring out into dim, perpetual daylight that always enveloped that half of the moon which kept its face constantly toward Jupiter.
Week after week and month after month, Guyard had stood before the giant, had stood there hurling thought-waves into the brain, but to no avail. Something was wrong somewhere within the intricate mechanism, some trouble he could not locate.
Nervous and shaken, he stood there glaring into the expressionless eyes. There were but a scant two weeks left. Then the evil creatures from the Land of Darkness on the other side of the moon would come to claim Marene.
Desperation gave power to Guyard's tired brain. "Zurk!" His eyes blazed into the giant's with a final effort. "Move your head!"
For a brief instant, Guyard was certain that a feeble thought-wave had tried to penetrate his own brain; he thought he caught a faint glow in the eyes.
Then he wheeled quickly at the sound of a step upon the ladder up to the trap-door in the floor. His hand flashed to the gun at his belt, and he waited tensely.

Within the whispering grove of Reedhaven, where flute carvers etch melodies into bamboo and spirit walkers tread paths of ancient reeds, carver Lira bonds melodically with walker Kai, whose steps echo with the grove's forgotten songs. Their echoes, carved in reed vows and wind-kissed notes, play love—or silence the grove in reedless voids. As they wander flute-laced trails and spirit-veiled thickets, echoed by wind wardens and melody rivals, Lira's carving harmony merges with Kai's walking rhythm, revealing a bamboo legend of echoed tune. When a broken reed summons silence shades, they must carve the bond to resound the winds. In the echo of bamboo flutes, where every whisper tunes the heart and every step dances with melody, their melodic bond becomes the song that revives the whispering wood.

JUPITER RISING – THE CELESTIAL CHRONICLES
Book 4 of 6 The Rings of Saturn
This story is summarized as follows:
Captain Minerva Voss and her crew aboard the Odysseus uncover a cosmic mystery hidden in Saturn’s rings. What begins as a haunting harmony turns out to be a Sagittari language—a warning. The team discovers an ancient archway, a gateway to a quantum echo revealing the rings as a stabilizing circuit keeping the entity Nyx imprisoned within Jupiter. But the Syndicate, led by Darius Kane, seeks to disrupt this balance and unleash Nyx’s power. A rogue Syndicate scientist, Jace Ryker, joins Minerva to stop Kane’s catastrophic plan, revealing a project aiming to merge humanity with void energy. As planetary alignment nears, Minerva leads a desperate mission to retune the rings and reinforce the prison. Jace sacrifices himself to complete the sequence, stabilizing Jupiter—for now. But a final vision warns: Nyx stirs, and the next Convergence looms ever closer.
This is the fourth of six audiobooks in the series and I do hope you enjoy this fourth instalment, and it's only $3, all subsequent will remain at that price.
I have worked very hard and meticulously to provide you with an enjoyable experience, the initial opening credit music which does run to approximately 2 1/2 minutes and prepares you for the start, synthesizer, bass and cymbals in a soul/funk form. The closing music ends the tale on a darker tone and at about 2 minutes and the same musical instruments, genre and industrial/fearful mood but with more caution added.
The story itself runs to about 15 minutes and is narrated in my own voice.
I do hope you enjoy this audiobook and let me know what you think, there are a lot more to come!
