  The language of Poetry is an art that most of us attempt at some point in our lives.  Although its commonplace exposure has been somewhat marginalised in today’s often fast-paced lives we all recognise good verse that can empathise with our thoughts or open us up to experience new things in new ways, to better understand and to enjoy the many strands of our lives. 
   
  But finding a starting point can be overwhelming, even off-putting, so in this series we offer up our Top 10 classic poets, who brim with talent and verse, on a range of subjects and themes that we can all enjoy. 
   
  It is at first difficult to comprehend that the carnage and slaughter of War could yield some of our greatest poetry.  Harder still that in four years of horror humanity was able to destroy and create on such a scale.  These 10 poets and their verses speak for everyone.

  Author Bio: 
  Set on creating a worldwide movement and bridging the gap between mental health and EDM music. Open Boundaries looks at music as a piece of the mind, something that transgresses languages, borders and backgrounds, a form of emotive connection that lets people forget, love, release, bring joy, cry, and expose their inner selves. The music itself is a form of expression based on personal self-realizations, with each release being built from pieces of the artists mind and then encapsulated in hard hitting beats, melodic rap flows, highly relatable lyrics and heart-felt vocals, all blended together and realized into in 3 versions; including the exclusively unique 'Message Bound' mixes. 
   
  Each release is then supported by the storytelling within the release of the ‘Chapters’, which define the meaning behind each song. 
   
  The artist remains anonymous for the purposes of being all inclusive to every person out there, there is no connection to any country or any background with all the focus being on the music and the lyrics, rather than the person behind it. This has allowed Open Boundaries to attract a global reach and fanbase who proclaim their devotion to the artist, along with their unwavering support to the ethos behind it.

  The nameless narrator of Steven Seidenberg's latest work, Coda, attempts to trace the origins of linguistic and perceptual differentiation—of experience through the cipher of the subject, broadly understood—by advancing the linguistic experiments of contemporary lyric and narrative forms, moving between extravagant prosody and obsessive disquisition to reconfigure the conceptual imperatives common to many throughlines in philosophy and theology. Continuing the focus on the structure of memory and the decadence of body he began in his book Anon, Seidenberg here describes the epistemological regress of desire, intention, knowledge, and discernment, coupling the language and concerns of authors as diverse as Spinoza, Kant, Hegel, and Wittgenstein with a raucous humor in the tradition of Rabelais, Beckett, Lispector, and Sterne. 
  An unnamed narrator, possibly afloat, adrift, possibly asleep, or dreaming, or already dead, or as good as, being an exile, or a condemned fool on a ship of fools, takes the opportunity of this voyage of sorts, to try and make sense of their life and mental state. Through a dizzying, meandering syntax, and farcical flourish, the adventure takes us through philosophical events with dogs, how to tell one’s tale, plead one’s case, how to walk through doors, lose one’s limbs, if not one’s mind, how to make a liveable self in the world, while puffing out smokes of language to fight off the existential crisis at play: “I am waiting for something to wait for”. It might take a little while to adjust to this spinning language feast, adapted from bygone literary models, from Rabelais to Sterne, but once you’re in, you will find yourself unable to put down the addictive, comical and strangely urgent twists and turns of Seidenberg’s latest proposition. —Caroline Bergvall, author of Drift, Alisoun Sings, and Meddle English

  The Poetry of Claude McKay - A...

  Festus Claudius McKay was born in Sunny Ville, Jamaica on the 15th September 1890, He was the youngest son to parents who had gathered enough assets to secure them the right to vote. 
   
  As a boy he was fascinated by English Poetry and literature, although at 17 he took on work as an apprentice woodcutter for two years before becoming a police constable in the capital, Kingston.  In this mainly white and affluent town racism was rife and its nature awakened his political instincts and pursuit of social justice.  He soon returned home and published his first two poetry collections in 1912. 
   
  By the early 1920’s he had travelled extensively across the United States and parts of Europe and was recognised as a very talented poet and an essential founding component of the Harlem Renaissance.   
   
  As well as poetry he also wrote several novels and was a dedicated activist for social reform.  
   
  By the late 1930s he had developed a deep interest in Catholicism and several years later moved to Chicago as a teacher for a Catholic organisation. 
   
  By the mid 1940’s several illnesses has further debilitated his health. 
   
  Claude McKay died of heart failure on the 22nd May 1948.  He was 57.
