Is prayer to you just words?
Or have you ever felt, even once, that you were standing before God with your whole being… and your heart was embracing heaven?
🎙️ In this rare and powerful sermon, His Holiness Pope Shenouda III speaks to us about the greatest spiritual relationship a human being can ever live: Prayer.
✝️ Prayer is not just a form of piety…
    Not a routine…
    Not an obligation…
    Not even a request…
    Prayer is an encounter… a connection… a love… a divine presence.
It is the golden bridge that links heaven to earth.
It is Jacob’s ladder, stretching from your heart to the throne of God.
    📖 The Bible says:
“Let my prayer be set before You like incense, the lifting up of my hands like the evening sacrifice.” (Psalm 141:2)
“With my whole heart I seek You; do not let me wander from Your commandments.” (Psalm 119:10)
“My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.” (Psalm 42:2)
“My house shall be called a house of prayer.” (Isaiah 56:7)
⛪ Prayer is not only spoken words…
Prayer can be:A tearA glanceA silent acheA sacred silence
🕊️ Pure prayer is:Comfort for the sufferingRest for the lonelyA weapon for the spiritual warriorA terror to demonsA breath of life for the saints
    ✝️ Even Christ Himself prayed…
He would withdraw and spend long hours in prayer, teaching us:
“Men ought always to pray and not lose heart.” (Luke 18:1)
“Enter into your inner room, shut the door, and pray to your Father who is in secret.” (Matthew 6:6)
💧 Prayer is:A spiritual incense rising from the heartA dialogue of love from the soul to the Spirit of GodThe longing of the limited toward the embrace of the Infinite.

A classic since first published almost 100 years ago, these nostalgic and whimsical poems bring back the innocence of childhood.
The poems perfectly enter the thinking of a child. Who mends the soldier's socks? Why does a dormouse keep his eyes shut? Are Brownies tickly? A. A. Milne's observation of children's behavior shows in such poems as "Disobedience" (Where has James Morrison's mother gone?), "Jonathan Jo" (who has everything you may need and only wants a smile as payment!), and "At The Zoo" (where you can find biffalo-buffalo-bisons and bidgers, badgers, and bodgers!)
Each sweet and silly poem is written with the rhythm and rhyme that young children love.
Knowing how important language development is to success in school, educator AnnaLisa Bodtker created alenbeebooks. Audiobooks enhance listening skills, increase vocabulary, and allow children to enjoy books above their reading levels. Alenbeebooks selects well written stories and poems, that are narrated in an engaging manner, to promote good language skills.

The Beast-Helper by Frank Belknap Long - The story of a dictator who sought to hold power by allying himself psychically with a powerful beast.
The Dictator sat energetically erect, and delivered his pronouncements in a cold, metallic tone. To the American correspondent he seemed like an automaton-a flesh-and-blood machine that functioned at white heat, and expressed itself in a manner wholly remorseless.
The Dictator sat before his desk in his spacious, walnut-paneled study. His fat, pudgy face was aglow with fanatical rancor. "Trivania will become the most powerful corporate state in Eastern Europe," he said."Our cause is a sanctified one, and we shall march from triumph to triumph. We intend ruthlessly to suppress all-dissenting opinion."
The American correspondent was scribbling hastily. Suddenly he looked up, looked at the Dictator. "May I quote this?" he asked.
"Yes, Mr. Thompson. You may quote me at length."
Mr. Thompson was a thin, pale little man with mild blue eyes. He looked conspicuously harmless, to the Dictator. A smile of scorn curled the Dictator's heavy lips as he contemplated the press man.
But the American correspondent had more iron in him than the Dictator. It was a different kind of iron. Mr. Thompson was a profound skeptic and a scientific humanist. To Mr. Thompson the Dictator was a savage barbarian.
The Dictator continued to profess himself. We shall be merciless to the critics of the state," he said. "Representative government is an absurdity, an historical anachronism. We will relentlessly repress–"
Suddenly he stopped, and his mouth fell open.
