Sinossi

The future of mankind is in the hands of science—and it may not survive.
In The World Set Free, H. G. Wells imagines a world transformed by the discovery of atomic energy—decades before the real-world invention of nuclear weapons. His vision is both awe-inspiring and terrifying: nations wield unprecedented power, but with it comes catastrophic global warfare and the urgent question of whether humanity can learn to control the forces it unleashes.

First published in 1914, this prophetic novel predicts the atomic bomb and the political upheavals it could bring, offering a startlingly accurate warning about technology's double-edged nature. At once thrilling, tragic, and hopeful, Wells' masterpiece explores the tension between scientific advancement and moral responsibility.

"An extraordinary work of prophetic imagination—Wells foresaw the atomic age with chilling clarity."
– The Guardian

"A masterpiece of speculative fiction that still resonates today."
– The New York Times

    A genetically-altered clone. A college graduate. And it’s a long way to Canada…
Harper Rawls struggles to come to grips with her parents’ deaths - but it’s not going well. Accompanying her guilt and inadequacy, she’s somehow gained the attention of an anti-cloning extremist organization. Out of “respect for her father”, they now watch her every move.
Ordell Bentley, a genetically-altered clone, flees violence at the hands of the same group. Death stalks him through the nascent jungles of League City, Texas as he makes his way to his lover’s house to warn her, only to find Harper instead.
The only escape is through the mid-western desert, and Ordell has no food, no money, and no transportation. Hunted by the HPM and an unseen stalker, and plagued by a corporate-sponsored bounty that creeps steadily upward, the future is bleak…
Models and Citizens takes place in dystopian future where the climate has moved on, taking with it the jobs and dreams of the people. Models, genetically-altered clones like Ordell, work the jobs others won’t, and are hated for it, but since escape means death, most suffer in silence.
A cross between Kazuo Ishiguro’s Never Let Me Go and Bladerunner (based on Philip K. Dick’s Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep), this novel entertains from the first paragraph to the last sentence as Harper and Ordell struggle to survive in a post-climate change world. If you loved Atropos by John Lapuntich, you will enjoy this gripping thrill ride.
Models and Citizens is an action-packed rollercoaster of a novel that moves at a breakneck speed and leaves you asking for more. - Reader’s Favorite (5 - stars)

In the great age of classic science fiction, writers kept returning to one world more than any other — a place of thin air, endless horizons, and secrets buried beneath red dust.
Mars and Martians and Nothing But Mars and Martians 2 brings together twenty remarkable vintage stories from the 1930s through the 1960s — tales of explorers, settlers, scientists, wanderers, and the strange beings who may already call Mars home.
Some stories are tense and thought-provoking. Some are ironic and playful. Others remind us that the unknown rarely behaves the way we expect.
Here you’ll find unforgettable works from masters such as Ray Bradbury, Philip K. Dick, Isaac Asimov, Fritz Leiber, Clifford D. Simak, John Wyndham, Harlan Ellison, and more — each imagining Mars in a different light: dangerous, curious, hopeful, lonely, and deeply mysterious.
Travel across forgotten outposts. Walk ancient ruins.
Listen closely for signals that may not be meant for us.
And along the way, discover just how much stories about Mars tell us about ourselves. The Foxholes of Mars by Fritz LeiberSurvey Team by Philip K.
