Sinossi

From the beginning, Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection have been the heart and foundation of Christian faith. Beginning with Mark, the first account to be written, these six series of sermons interpret the four Gospel narratives of Jesus’ passion and death, taking account of the distinctiveness of each. The author believes that we hear the gospel first in the individual accounts of the evangelists, and neither in any “harmonization” of our own to smooth out the differences, nor even in the work of scholars to establish an historical core behind their divergences. The four Gospels are the authenticated “witnesses” to Jesus’ death and resurrection. The differences between them give rise to a range of legitimate interpretations of Jesus’ death. It is this richness of meaning and understanding that these sermons explore.

Taking account of critical scholarship, but written in accessible language, this is an exploration of the foundation of Christian faith for those who would like to know more.

Padmasambhava, the Lotus-Born Indian mystic and tantric master, is second only to Skakyamuni as the most famous figure in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition. This legendary tale interweaves narration with timeless advice to all spiritual practitioners.
Here, In English for the first time, is the complete story of how Buddhism was planted in Tibet. The Lotus-Born is a translation of a biography that was concealed as a terma treasure – as protection from the changes of time – and revealed centuries later by a tertön, a reincarnation of an accomplished student of Padmasambhava who had made the aspiration to benefit people in future generations. Also included is a Foreword by His Holiness Dilgo Khyentse and “A Clarification of the Life of Padmasambhava” by Tsele Natsok Rangdröl.

Building and Sustaining a Thriving Leadership Culture
Essential to every healthy church is a biblical model of leadership. In the New Testament, church leadership is built around a team of elders working together, each bringing his own unique skills and gifts to the cause of shepherding the flock God entrusted to them. However, in many churches today the principle of plurality in leadership is often misunderstood, mistakenly applied, or completely ignored.
Dave Harvey encourages church leaders to prioritize plurality for the surprising ways that it helps churches to flourish. This audiobook not only builds a compelling case for churches to adopt and maintain biblical elder pluralities guided by solid leadership but also supplies practical tools to help elders work together for transformation.

In Love That Lasts, New York Times bestselling author of Jesus > Religion Jefferson Bethke and his wife, Alyssa, expose the distorted views of love that permeate our culture and damage our hearts, minds, and souls.
Drawing from Jeff’s “prodigal son” personal history and from Alyssa’s “True Love Waits” experience, the Bethkes point to a third and better way. Blending personal storytelling with biblical teaching, they offer readers an inspiring, realistic vision of love, dating, marriage, and sex.
Young people today enter adulthood with expectations of blissful dating followed by a romantic, fulfilling marriage only to discover they’ve been duped. They learned about love and sexuality from social media, their friends, Disney fairy tales, pornography, or even their own rocky past, and they have no idea what healthy, lifelong love is supposed to be like. The results are often disastrous, with this generation becoming one of the most relationally sick, sexually addicted, and divorce-ridden in history.
Looking to God’s design while drawing lessons from their own successes and failures, the Bethkes explode the fictions and falsehoods of our current moment. One by one, they peel back lies such as,the belief that every person has only one soul mate, that marriage will complete you,and that pornography and hook-ups are harmless.

    10th Anniversary Edition
For generations, we've been taught to fear the cold...
And while there are consequences to extreme cold exposure, with proper training, anyone can thrive in the cold and learn the lessons it has to teach. You may recognize Wim Hof from TV specials or YouTube clips; you might have seen him running barefoot above the Arctic Circle or swimming in ice-cold waters.
While performing these incredible feats, Wim remained warm, comfortable, and centered, establishing himself as epitome of what is possible when someone uses the cold as a tool to train their body.
Scientists became fascinated with Wim -- was he a genetic anomaly, the proof of evolution, or something else entirely? Well, in fall of 2009, college student Justin Rosales decided to follow in Wim's footsteps to discover if he, too, could conquer the cold.
In this dual-perspective autobiography, Justin and Wim's lives intersect as they share their journeys and methods for becoming Icemen -- and prove that it's possible for you, too.
