Carole Lombard, born Jane Alice Peters (October 6, 1908 - January 16, 1942), was born in Fort Wayne, IN. Lombard was one the most commercially successful Hollywood actresses of the 1930s and is remembered as one of the definitive actresses of the screwball comedy genre.
