Sinopsis

Emerging Platform Trends explores the evolving landscape of online platforms, arguing that traditional centralized models are becoming inadequate. The book examines the shift towards unconventional content formats, the increasing importance of niche communities, and the rise of decentralized networks. These emerging trends are critical for understanding the future of online interaction for digital citizens, content creators, and policymakers alike.

One intriguing fact is the growing demand for personalized content streams, moving beyond generic formats. Also highlighted is how decentralized networks offer alternatives to traditional platforms, potentially reshaping the platform economy.

The book takes a multidisciplinary approach, drawing from social science, technology studies, and communication theory, presenting qualitative case studies and quantitative analyses. It emphasizes the need for a hybrid approach, combining the scale of centralized platforms with the flexibility of decentralized systems.

The book progresses by first examining content evolution, then focusing on niche communities and user engagement, and finally scrutinizing the implications of decentralized technologies for online interaction. This approach provides a comprehensive view of the forces driving digital transformation.

Spirit and Science are viewed as opposing views. I have lived my life in the middle of this divide. Trained as an engineer and scientist, I was taught to trust logic, mathematics, and experimental proof.
Yet my personal experiences — from moments of prophecy to direct awareness of subtle energies — convinced me that there is more to reality than conventional science admits.
For years I tried to keep the two worlds separate: the rational and the mystical. But over time, the boundary dissolved. I realized that both perspectives describe the same universe from different vantage points.
My work, and this book in particular, is about restoring the unity that once existed between them.
The purpose of this book is not to replace science with mysticism, nor to reduce spiritual experience to chemistry or neurology. Rather, it aims to show that consciousness, energy, and matter are aspects of a single integrated system.

Anger is all around us, from divisive social media arguments and heightened political divides to road rage and personal spats; from Black Lives Matter and climate justice movements to Trump, incels, and white supremacists. When it materializes, it seems to cry out for recognition and response. It affects our bodies and can transition into violence. It can be inherited through the generations; it can manifest in criminal acts. What should we do with it, and can it ever be put to good use?Drawing on case studies of patients, developments in neuropsychology, literature, philosophy, and recent political events, acclaimed author and psychoanalyst Josh Cohen identifies the different forms of anger, including the most untrammeled and elemental fury, the more cynical anger that works towards political unrest, and the questioning anger of political protest. Rather than an emotion to ignore, he argues that anger is a primary human feeling. It maps itself onto every aspect of our intimate lives while politically and culturally shaping our world. In a time of intense dissatisfactions and spiraling divisions, and with anger a dominating force, All the Rage offers a new and original understanding of anger, so we may better handle the rage within us.

The Dead Sea Scrolls preserved fifteen copies of a book most Christians have never heard of. The Ethiopian church never stopped reading it.
The Book of Jubilees opens on Sinai — but not the Sinai you know. An angel arrives. Not to deliver the Ten Commandments. To dictate something older: the complete history of creation, organized according to a fifty-year jubilee cycle, grounded in a 364-day solar calendar written on heavenly tablets before the world began.
Fifteen Hebrew manuscripts were found among the Dead Sea Scrolls — more copies than most books of the Hebrew Bible. The Qumran community cited Jubilees by name as canonical authority and broke with the Jerusalem Temple over the calendar it mandates. Paul's most puzzling claim in Galatians — that the Law was given through angels — makes complete sense once you know this book. So does the Hebrews Melchizedek Christology. So does the jubilee announcement of Luke 4. And so does the Ethiopian church's solar calendar, its fifty-five-day Lent, and its twelve annual feasts for each archangel.
The Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church never lost Jubilees. It reads it as the thirteenth book of its Old Testament — the eternal Law, the angelic governance of nations, the jubilee structure of history, the solar calendar as divine revelation. These are the foundations of the world that produced both the Dead Sea Scrolls and the New Testament, preserved in Ge'ez because one church in the mountains of East Africa never broke the chain.
Jubilees and Sacred Time is Volume 3 of The Bible of the Ethiopians — the first comprehensive English-language series on the world's largest Christian Bible. Reading the New Testament without Jubilees is like reading Paul without understanding the Torah.
The angel told Moses to write from the beginning of creation. The Ethiopian church kept what Moses wrote. The Dead Sea Scrolls confirmed it was real.
It is time to read it.

Mona Chollet's In Defense of Witches is a “brilliant, well-documented” celebration (Le Monde) by an acclaimed French feminist of the witch as a symbol of female rebellion and independence in the face of misogyny and persecution.Centuries after the infamous witch hunts that swept through Europe and America, witches continue to hold a unique fascination for many: as fairy tale villains, practitioners of pagan religion, as well as feminist icons. Witches are both the ultimate victim and the stubborn, elusive rebel. But who were the women who were accused and often killed for witchcraft? What types of women have centuries of terror censored, eliminated, and repressed?Celebrated feminist writer Mona Chollet explores three types of women who were accused of witchcraft and persecuted: the independent woman, since widows and celibates were particularly targeted; the childless woman, since the time of the hunts marked the end of tolerance for those who claimed to control their fertility; and the elderly woman, who has always been an object of at best, pity, and at worst, horror. Examining modern society, Chollet concludes that these women continue to be harassed and oppressed. Rather than being a brief moment in history, the persecution of witches is an example of society’s seemingly eternal misogyny, while women today are direct heirs to those who were hunted down and killed for their thoughts and actions. With fiery prose and arguments that range from the scholarly to the cultural, In Defense of Witches seeks to unite the mythic image of the witch with modern women who seek to live their lives on their own terms.
