Sinopsis

1. FEAR TONIGHT - WANDERER DETECTIVE SERIES

In the dimly lit, smoky atmosphere of the exclusive Paradise Club, fear is the uninvited guest. For the singer Myra Heyns, the evening’s performance is a torture. She has inadvertently overheard something she should not have, a conversation the dangerous club owner, Hymie Turok, wants to keep secret at all costs. Her panic is tangible, and before long, she is summoned to Turok’s office. Her friend, Bettie de Lange, can only watch helplessly as Myra disappears into the shadows, on her way to a confrontation from which she may not return.

But they are not alone. At a nearby table sits the wanderer detective, Obed de Swardt. He is a man of many talents, immensely wealthy, a rugby hero, and a private investigator with a razor-sharp instinct for danger. He observes the unfolding drama, and his suspicions are confirmed when, later that night, he sees Turok’s henchmen smuggling an unconscious Myra out through a side door. In a lightning-fast and brutal confrontation in the dark parking lot, De Swardt rescues the girl, but he soon realizes that this is only the beginning. It is not just Turok who is involved; a ruthless syndicate is pulling all the strings.

De Swardt’s efforts to expose the truth plunge him into a deadly web of danger and deceit. He is led into a trap, captured, and left for dead. Through sheer willpower and his fists, he survives a rendezvous with death, only to discover that the world has turned against him. The police, under the leadership of the skeptical Major Dirk Laas, believe a different, simpler story. The newspapers scream of suicide. And the girl he is trying to protect, the only witness, lies blatantly to his face and paints him as the villain. Alone, distrusted by the police and with an invisible enemy watching his every move, Obed de Swardt must dig deeper. As the body count rises, a desperate race against time begins to unmask a mastermind lurking in the shadows, someone for whom murder is just another business transaction.

Chicago, 1898. In the midst of the Progressive Era, twenty-one-year-old junior detective Harriet Morrow is determined to prove she's more than a lucky hire as the Prescott Agency's first woman operative. But her latest challenge—a murder case steeped in scandal—could become a deadly setback . . .

As the Windy City thaws from a harsh winter, Harriet Morrow finds herself doubting her investigative skills when she's assigned to solve a high-stakes murder case well above her pay grade. And there's also a catch. Harriet must somehow blend in as an "unremarkable" young woman—one who feels confident in skirts, not men's clothing—on a quest to infiltrate the immigrant community at the center of the grisly crime . . .

The mystery has more twists and turns than her morning bike commute, with a muckraker found murdered in a southside tenement building after obtaining evidence of a powerful politician's corruption. While Harriet gains the trust of the tenement's women residents to gather clues, the undercover mission reveals an innocent mother might have been framed for the crime—and exposes ties to another violent death. Harriet will need to survive rising threats to assert her place in a world that's quick to dismiss her—and out a killer who's always one step ahead . . .

In a nation fractured by ideology and faith, one woman’s quiet strength becomes her greatest weapon.
Tracy Kincaid has spent her life rebuilding from the pieces others left behind. Haunted by betrayal and loss, she searches for meaning in a world where forgiveness is preached more easily than practiced. Along her journey, she meets those who will test her resolve — and one woman who will teach her that healing isn’t about forgetting, but learning to live with the truth.
From the creator of Nazi America comes a powerful story of resilience, faith, and the fragile beauty of redemption.
Tracy is a testament to the human spirit — how it breaks, how it heals, and how, even in the darkest world, light can still find its way through.

The corpse was snoring softly behind the sofa.
It is early November and the Wynmouth Fire Festival is in full flow. A dozen or more giant statues are about to be put to the torch. The locals jokingly refer to it as “the Bonfire Night Massacre”. Fireworks and bonfires are the order of the day, and Simon Turing is looking forward to seeing the display.
He is in town performing at a local theatre, a revival of a fifties mystery play. All is not well at the venue, however. The theatre is in financial trouble and there are tensions backstage. The management needs a good box office if the theatre is to survive the winter. Luckily, the fire festival is a significant draw to the town. But when the theatre’s own contribution to the festivities erupts into flames a couple of days earlier than planned, it does not bode well for the rest of the run.
