Sinossi

Geoffrey Chaucer, born in London around 1340, was an English poet, author, philosopher, scientist, diplomat and politician. He has been called the “father of English literature”, or, alternatively, the “father of English poetry”, but he should be considered, in a broader sense, for the breadth of his interests and the richness of his works, the father of English Humanism. He is seen as crucial in legitimising the literary use of Middle English when the dominant literary languages in England were still Anglo-Norman French and Latin.Parallel to his activity as a prolific writer, he maintained a career in the civil service as a bureaucrat, courtier, diplomat, comptroller of the customs for the port of London and member of parliament. The Legend of Good Women, the third longest of Chaucer’s works, after The Canterbury Tales and Troilus and Criseyde, is a poem in the form of a dream vision and is possibly the first significant work in English to use the iambic pentameter or decasyllabic couplets which Chaucer later used throughout The Canterbury Tales. This form of the heroic couplet would become a significant part of English literature no doubt inspired by Chaucer. The poem - indebted to several sources, including Ovid’s Heroides and Metamorphoses, the works of Virgil and Vincent of Beauvais - is a collection of different narratives, a sequence of stories about famous women from history and mythology: Cleopatra, Thisbe of Babylon, Dido queen of Cathage, Hypsipyle, Medea, Lucretia, Ariadne, Philomela, Phyllis, and Hypermnestra. A historical, mythical, heroic and allegorical exaltation of the feminine, even from the most sacred and spiritual point of view.

I wrote most of these poems while the memories of a woman from my past scraped at my mind.
I've learned to accept that life is about overcoming desire and finding peace in not getting what you want, but I'm only human, which means sometimes I enjoy entertaining an erotic, morbid, desperate, and painfully hopeful side of me when the mood strikes.
My bottom line is this: if you've ever loved someone too much, or missed someone you couldn't forget, this modest collection of words and ideas might feel familiar.

The stereotypical image of a poet is one of unknown talent starving in a garret and who’s faithfulness and legacy to the art is discovered only after their death.
In some cases this is undoubtedly true, but Poets being human and with the same building blocks of physical and mental health as the rest of us, also had the same afflictions and problems as the rest of us.
The long roll call of names and the truncated legacies that were left behind is filled with these lost talents.
In this volume we bring together the poems and verse of those wordsmiths whose lives were blighted by tuberculosis, then more commonly known as consumption, and its debilitating and usually terminal effects.
The long roll call and the truncated legacies that were left behind are filled with the names of these lost talents.

'This is the story of how we met, fell in love, and fucked it up. But it's not just our story. It's his, and his and theirs. Maybe it's yours…'
Manchester, 2017. During a hot and sweaty queer warehouse party, two damaged hearts collide. He is HIV+ and drowning in shame. They are one microaggression away from a full-on meltdown. Together, they form a bond so tight, they might just survive it all. But sometimes survival means knowing when to leave.
Pulling back the glittery curtain of pride to reveal the devastating impact of generational HIV stigma, racism, homophobia and repressive gender norms, Nathaniel J Hall's Toxic is a powerful, passionate play celebrating survival and the resilience of the queer spirit.
Inspired by true events, it was first performed at HOME, Manchester, in 2023, before touring the UK in 2025, directed by Scott Le Crass, and performed by the playwright alongside Josh-Susan Enright.

When examining his own poetry Reinfred Dziedzorm Addo often finds he is merely a conduit for the words, the inspiration source itself being a force or another being. In acknowledging a poem’s inspiration source, he calls the resulting work a ‘dedicada’, meaning something written in dedication or in recognition of another.
A debut full poetry collection, Washed Over expands upon Addo’s chapbook The Dedicadas and is a journey through a space filled with a breadth of forces and beings active in one’s existence. Identity, chaos, autumn colors, exile, people learning from the universe itself...these and other dedicadas make this collection an exploration of the experiences of someone washed over by life’s many inspirations.

Written for boys who like to eat other people's sorrows, or not eat at all, and for girls who love them regardless.
Nick and Mark are 20-something nihilists with nothing but Thursday evenings, a mattress, and the weight of their own thoughts. In one final attempt to find meaning, they give themselves a week to search. If they fail, they jump.
We’re Jumping Tomorrow is an intimate, hauntingly poetic novella designed to be read in one sitting, like stumbling upon a stranger’s tragic story online, finding empathy for them, and then scrolling away. Combining sharp cynicism with raw, visual prose, it captures the fleeting yet profound nature of human connection, mental illness, and the quiet desperation of young adulthood.
Never quite meant for the public eye, We’re Jumping Tomorrow holds enough importance to be released anyway. Though darkness and pessimism spread throughout its pages, an unshakable sense of humor and self-deprecation stand firm, reflecting this generation’s ability to face even the most gruesome thoughts with a grin.
