In these hair-raising tales of the paranormal, queer characters encounter the supernatural… with life-changing results. Get ready for a fright with three haunting tales from Foxglove Lee’s Queer Ghost Stories series!

In Ghost Cat, Jonathan was never a fan of his boyfriend's pet. The feeling was more than mutual. When the old girl dies, Jonathan and Ben can’t pay for her ashes to be returned in a brushed pewter urn. Is that why Bella returns to haunt Jonathan's apartment? Can the guys lay Bella's spirit to rest before the ghost cat brings someone to an early grave?

When newly-separated Marie moves in with her parents in our second story, Death Bed, her childhood room becomes the scene of strange occurrences. As a child, her sister warned her not to let her arm hang over the side of the bed as she slept. A monster would drag her down to hell. Who knew her sister might be right?

Our final story, Ghost Road, finds Margo and her girlfriend in a broken-down car on a deserted gravel road. When she marches into the forest to find a cell signal, the last thing she expects to come upon is a her ruggedly handsome ex-boyfriend setting up camp. But a shadow figure haunts the woods, and it’s got its sights set on the pair. Will Margo make it out alive?

Tomato Sauce - A sadistic priest...

Hanns Heinz Ewers was born on 3rd November 1871 in Düsseldorf, Germany.

His first published poem was at 17 on the death, after a reign of only 99 days, of the German Emperor Frederick III.

A stint in the German military was cut short after only 44 days because of his myopia. Writing was to be the way forward for him with a book of satiric verse published in 1901. At the same time he co-founded a literary vaudeville troupe that toured central and eastern Europe before censors and expenses forced its closure. An inveterate traveller he was in South America when the Great War enveloped Europe and he relocated to New York.

From here his story darkens. Although by now a successful and admired author he was arrested in the U S in 1918 as a German Agent on the pretext of his travels and a falsified Swiss passport. Interned, he was released in 1921 and returned to Germany. He claimed only to be raising money for the German Red Cross.

His literary fame is decidedly easier to clarify. His novels beginning with ‘The Sorcerer’s Apprentice’ in 1910 are dark, they bristle with evil intent and are littered with characters who have a dubious moral compass and yet, along with his short stories, are brazen, brilliant feats of literary narrative.

He also wrote and published plays, fairy tales, opera librettos, critical essays and lectured for many years on ‘The Religion of Satan’ and was one of the first to write scripts for the cinema, which he considered a legitimate art form.

As the Weimar republic began its chaotic death throes Ewers became attracted to the rising Nazi Party. At first he was warmly received despite disagreeing with its anti-semitism (his most famed literary character had a Jewish mistress) and he was even commissioned by Hitler to write a biography of the Nazi martyr Horst Wessel. This together with his own homosexuality culminated with his works being banned in 1934 and his assets and property seized. It took him many years to have the ban lifted. This association rightfully clouds his personal reputation but has meant his literary contributions are also overlooked and neglected.

Hanns Heinz Ewers died of tuberculosis on 12th June 1943 in his Berlin apartment.

The Middle Toe of the Right Foot

In The Middle Toe of the Right Foot, Ambrose Bierce weaves a chilling and unsettling tale where the ordinary becomes terrifyingly abnormal. The story explores the curious intersection of fate and superstition, as a simple injury leads to an unnerving series of events. With his signature blend of dark humor and gothic sensibility, Bierce crafts a narrative that challenges the reader's understanding of reality, turning the most mundane of circumstances into a source of dread.
Through his mastery of suspense, Bierce creates an atmosphere where the lines between rational thought and irrational fear blur. The middle toe of the right foot, seemingly a trivial detail, becomes a symbol of psychological unease, embodying the fragility of the human mind and its susceptibility to the irrational.

'The Lady of The Loch held me spellbound from the first page to the last. With two storylines beautifully woven together to create a seamless tale of love, loss, betrayal and, above all, hope, it’s a must-read. Collins’s detailed knowledge of the period trickles through the tale wrapping the reader in a vivid shifting world as it moves between the 14th century and present day. Cleverly researched and exquisitely written, The Lady of The Loch is a timeless story of hope, family and love. I loved it' Alexandra Walsh
‘I couldn't put it down and I cried at the end. A terrific read’ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Reader Review
‘A rollercoaster of emotions reading this book...from the life of a young woman let down in her relationship (we've all been there!) running parallel to the complete un-justified vitriol against a young woman in the late 1600's. It was amazing, a very powerful novel. Brilliant’ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Reader Review
‘A book that that left me tearful at the end, but a very good story that had me hooked from the first page. Well thought out and the characters very believable’ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Reader Review
‘Absolutely delightful read! One found oneself utterly captivated by the characters - of flesh and spirit alike - the Author has the ability to conjure a physical reaction in the reader - of a scent or a chill - a rare gift’ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Reader Review
‘Stunning. Loved this book. Interesting, really fabulous read that bought lots of emotion, gladness, spookiness, history and sadness with lovely clever story-telling. I loved it’ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Reader Review
