Sinossi

What Is Neural Modeling Fields

Neural modeling field (NMF) is a mathematical framework for machine learning that integrates ideas from neural networks, fuzzy logic, and model based recognition. Its acronym stands for "Neural Modeling Field." Modeling fields, modeling fields theory (MFT), and Maximum likelihood artificial neural networks (MLANS) are some of the other names that have been used to refer to this concept. At the AFRL, Leonid Perlovsky is the one responsible for developing this framework. The NMF can be understood as a mathematical description of the machinery that make up the mind. These mechanisms include ideas, feelings, instincts, imagination, reasoning, and comprehension. The NMF is organized in a hetero-hierarchical structure that contains many levels. There are concept-models that encapsulate the knowledge at each level of the NMF. These concept-models generate so-called top-down signals, which interact with input signals that come from lower levels. These interactions are governed by dynamic equations, which are responsible for driving concept-model learning, adaptation, and the development of new concept-models for better correspondence to the input, bottom-up signals.

The study of geometry is at least 2500 years old, and it is within this field that the concept of mathematical proof—deductive reasoning from a set of axioms—first arose. To this day geometry remains a very active area of research in mathematics.

This Very Short Introduction covers the areas of mathematics falling under geometry, starting with topics such as Euclidean and non-Euclidean geometries, and ranging to curved spaces, projective geometry in Renaissance art, and geometry of space-time inside a black hole. Starting from the basics, Maciej Dunajski proceeds from concrete examples (of mathematical objects like Platonic solids, or theorems like the Pythagorean theorem) to general principles. Throughout, he outlines the role geometry plays in the broader context of science and art.

If you're like many adults today, you've experienced some kind of loss of a loved one. Whether it was a parent, spouse, sibling, friend, or child, losing someone close hurts.
People who develop attachment disorders have trouble regulating emotions and forming healthy relationships. They think negatively about themselves and find it hard to trust others. They often withdraw from social situations because they fear rejection. Some develop fears of intimacy and relationships. Others struggle with anger management issues. Still, others have difficulties controlling impulses and acting responsibly.
But, an attachment disorder doesn't mean you'll never recover. Many people overcome these challenges through therapy and support groups.
The book describes how attachment disorders affect adults, what they look like, and how to recognize them. It discusses the different types of attachment disorders, such as secure, avoidant, ambivalent/resistant, disorganized, and unresolved, and describes how they are diagnosed and treated. The authors discuss common comorbidities associated with ADs, including anxiety disorder, mood disorder, substance use disorder, eating disorders, personality disorders, and trauma exposure.
The Vanessa Alvarez explains why people develop these disorders, and he provides advice on how to help someone who suffers from one. She also includes suggestions for parents, teachers, and therapists.

A Life Lived Chronically: Memoir of a DES Daughter is a compelling and emotionally resonant memoir written by Claire R. Silverstone-Bright, brought to life through the narration of Kimberly Rog and published by Panda Publishing Agency UK.
Long before her birth, Claire’s life was already influenced by diethylstilbestrol (DES), a drug once widely prescribed to pregnant women and promoted as a safeguard against miscarriage. What was once considered a medical advancement was later linked to serious and lasting health effects for daughters exposed to it in the womb.
In this powerful audiobook, Claire shares her personal journey as a DES daughter—growing up with chronic illness, facing repeated medical procedures, and living under constant medical observation. Her story goes beyond physical struggles, delving into themes of identity, strength, and perseverance.
Far more than a traditional medical memoir, A Life Lived Chronically examines the wider emotional and social implications of inheriting a medical condition shaped by past decisions. With insight drawn from her background in criminology and justice, Claire critically explores the systems of authority, healthcare, and silence that allowed DES to impact generations of women without their knowledge or consent.
Blending intimate storytelling with thoughtful analysis, this audiobook offers a meaningful reflection on trust in medicine, the consequences of unchecked scientific progress, and the importance of giving voice to overlooked experiences.
Honest, insightful, and deeply moving, A Life Lived Chronically: Memoir of a DES Daughter stands as both a story of resilience and a call to recognize the hidden legacy carried by DES daughters across the world.
