As the debate around remote versus in-office work rages on, leaders in a wide range of industries continue to implement radically flexible work practices, allowing most, if not all, of their employees to work from anywhere. Why? They understand that geographic flexibility offers a competitive advantage: the ability to attract and retain top talent globally.

In The World Is Your Office, Harvard Business School professor Prithwiraj Choudhury, who has been studying this phenomenon for over a decade, takes listeners inside the trailblazing companies that are going all-in on work-from-anywhere (WFA) policies. From startups and nonprofits to government agencies and large corporations, Choudhury's research shows why and how these organizations are benefiting.

Drawing insights from this pioneering research, Choudhury also provides an extensive playbook for implementing successful WFA policies, offering leaders concrete strategies to use WFA as a means of hiring and retaining the best talent; effectively manage WFA teams, share knowledge, and combat isolation; leverage AI and automation to extend WFA into manufacturing and other deskless roles; and design programs that attract talent to different regions. Filled with actionable insights and extensive case studies, The World Is Your Office empowers leaders to embrace the future of work.

This book investigates how educational expansion, the trend towards the
service society and the German unification affect East and West German
women's life courses and family lives. It focuses on educational enrolment,
educational attainment level, labour force participation, career resources,
social origin, the educational match among partners as well as historical
periods and examines their consequences on women's entry into first motherhood
as well as partnership formation and dissolution processes. Using
longitudinal data from the National Educational Panel Study (NEPS),multivariate
methods such as event history analysis were applied. The findings
suggest that women's entry into motherhood during full-time education
is highly dependent on women's age, social origin and the policy measures
    in a country.

Selling your bank can make you feel like you are standing naked in public. You must always have your bank in the best shape possible, in other words, “swimsuit-ready”.
When you understand how the process works, you will know if you are ready or what you need to do to get ready. This will reduce the “noise” of the process, calming your mind and allowing you to move forward freely and confidently for the best results.
You will be able to find answers to questions like:What is our bank’s value, and what are the drivers of our value?Who is interested in buying us, and what is the best method? When is the best opportunity to pursue a sale?
The process of gathering this information is high-risk due to the fear of word leaking out, losing customers, and damaging value. Asking Advisors for advice may feel like asking a barber if you need a haircut.
My hope is that this book will help you gain confidence and peace of mind so you can use your skills when it matters most.

    The Health of Human Trafficking...

Slavery has existed since ancient times, was integral to building most civilizations, and was written into the Code of Hammurabi (Wells, 2008). It has appropriately been called “the world’s oldest trade” (Vink, 2003). Although Mauritania became the last country in the world to criminalize slavery in 2007, it is estimated there are over 45 million people enslaved worldwide today (McDougall, 2015; Walk Free Foundation, 2016). By means of comparison, historians generally agree approximately 12 million slaves were traded during the entire 400-year Trans-
Atlantic slave trade (Manning, 1992; Nunn, 2008).
Modern-day slavery is also known as human trafficking and has been documented in all 50 states (U.S. Department of State, 2016). Although the United States and international communities have cooperated to outlaw trafficking activities and protect victims with the passage of the Trafficking Victims Protection Act (TVPA) in 2000, much of the focus has been on legal protection. Little progress has been made in addressing the health needs of victims of human trafficking (Hom & Woods, 2013). Human trafficking harms people physically and emotionally, but health is the least understood aspect of the trafficking process. Notably, trafficking has been called a “public health crisis”, and a “pandemic” (de Chesnay, 2013, p. 901; Goodwin Veenema, Thornton, & Corley, p. 864). The health care response, however, has been “largely neglected in anti-trafficking work”, particularly when compared to efforts in law enforcement, immigrant law, and public policy (Zimmerman, Hossain, & Watts, 2011, p. 327).
