Sinossi

What is Cross Correlation

In signal processing, cross-correlation is a measure of similarity of two series as a function of the displacement of one relative to the other. This is also known as a sliding dot product or sliding inner-product. It is commonly used for searching a long signal for a shorter, known feature. It has applications in pattern recognition, single particle analysis, electron tomography, averaging, cryptanalysis, and neurophysiology. The cross-correlation is similar in nature to the convolution of two functions. In an autocorrelation, which is the cross-correlation of a signal with itself, there will always be a peak at a lag of zero, and its size will be the signal energy.

If your body still lives in the past even though your mind knows you're safe, then keep reading...

You've tried talking about it. You've tried thinking your way through it. But trauma doesn't live in your thoughts—it lives in your nervous system.

Your body is still keeping score, even when you're trying to move on.

Traditional therapy asks you to understand your trauma. Polyvagal Theory teaches you to release it. Not through more talking, but through understanding the language your nervous system has been screaming in all along.

This isn't about reliving your past. It's about rewiring your present.

    You'll discover:

Why your body reacts before your mind can catch up
How your vagus nerve controls your sense of safety
The science behind why you freeze, flee, or fight
How to shift from survival mode to thriving mode
Why "just calm down" has never worked for you
The missing piece in traditional trauma therapy

Healing trauma isn't about being strong enough to push through it.

It's about being wise enough to work with your body's natural systems. Your nervous system isn't broken—it's been protecting you. Now it's time to teach it that the danger has passed.

Nature isn’t a luxury, it’s a necessity. But today the majority of the world’s population lives in some form of urban environment. And by 2050, two-thirds of humanity will live in towns and cities.
Studies have shown that a daily walk in the woods can improve our health and happiness, that those who can observe a natural scene through a hospital window will recover faster. The sound of birds, the smell of tree oils, the presence of free-flowing water – these are all vital to our wellbeing. So as the human footprint of brick, concrete and metal expands, how do we protect our connection to the natural world?
In Wild Cities, Chris Fitch leads us around the world in search of answers, visiting pioneering cities and meeting the people working at the forefront of this issue. From the tiny urban forests in Tokyo and the star-rich skies of Flagstaff, to the meandering river of Munich and lions prowling through gardens in Nairobi, this is a globe-spanning look at how to bring nature into the places we live – and how to create the wild cities of the future.
In Wild Cities, Chris Fitch takes us on a journey through the latest advancements in architecture and planning, focusing on the integration of natural habitats into our urban landscapes. This non-fiction book is a must-read for those with an interest in ecotourism and community gardening, offering a unique perspective on how we can use land to create ecosystems within our cities.
