Sinossi

In "The Impossible Voyage Home," F. L. Wallace seamlessly weaves together themes of exploration and existential reflection within a richly imagined science fiction narrative. Set against a backdrop of interstellar travel and dystopian landscapes, Wallace'Äôs prose combines lyrical elegance with sharp, incisive dialogue, reflecting a comprehensive understanding of both humanity and technology. The novel investigates the tension between personal desires and the collective challenges of space colonization, all while innovatively challenging the conventions of time and space as understood in the genre. Through gripping plot development and vivid world-building, the book invites readers to ponder the profound implications of their journeys'Äîboth physical and metaphysical. F. L. Wallace, a writer steeped in the traditions of speculative fiction, draws on a vast array of influences, from classic space operas to contemporary philosophical discourses. His background in physics and his experiences as a traveler inspire the intricate designs of galactic civilizations and the moral dilemmas faced by individuals on the vast frontier of space. Wallace's passion for storytelling is matched by his commitment to exploring the human condition in the context of advanced technology and environmental imperatives. This compelling narrative is a must-read for enthusiasts of science fiction and those intrigued by philosophical inquiries about individuality and connection in an increasingly fragmented universe. Wallace'Äôs "The Impossible Voyage Home" not only entertains but also challenges readers to confront their own meanings of home and belonging within the cosmos.

Earth won its freedom. Now it must fight to keep it.

Humanity fought and won its freedom by establishing a fragile peace with the two great powers—the Qash'vo'tar and the Zhal Confederation—by bringing them proof that their ancient enemy, the Val'ayash, survived the great war. But despite that, Earth is still a minor player in a wider galaxy, with only one advantage. Magic.

Two years after Earth won its freedom, the tensions between the three star nations are rising. And United Terran Systems council knows that it is only a matter of time before the two great powers pressure humanity for the secrets of their magi-tech, which is the only thing that might allow Earth to remain safe. Knowing that they need another advantage if Earth is to keep its independence, UTS council sends the Prometheus on a mission to recover valuable technology from the remains of the ancient empire that fought the Val'ayash, hoping that they will find something to help them keep all of humanity safe.

But humanity has other secrets, and other projects in the works, all of them will be needed if the galaxy is to survive. Because, Val'ayash have returned.

There is life in the universe – and they’re looking to sell.
Prince, a charismatic (and lackluster) real-estate agent with a complicated past, gets a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to make it to the literal top of the business – fly an advanced spaceship known as “The Kepler” to an alien planet, where he will resume his career as an intergalactic realtor—selling luxury homes to the ultra-rich and live like the king he always knew he was.
But when the plan falls short, and Prince discovers the dark forces manipulating his life on Matlitodus, he finds himself in the middle of an intergalactic scheme with a talking trapdoor spider named Priscilla, a genius teenager with an affinity to Frenc fries, and a foodie scoundrel who knows a lot more than he lets on…
A graceful mashup of satire, high-stakes action, science fiction, and critique, The Best Realtor in the Galaxy is perfect for fans of John Scalzi, Julia Huni, and Douglas Adams’ The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.

    Easy right?
    Not quite.
Putting aside the aforementioned royals, the Ordo Aeternum has it out for me, and the Ringmaster has revealed herself to be more dangerous than ever.
My enemies are powerful, but my loved ones are too.
Especially Tobias, a vampire, my fated mate.
    Who knew?
Not me, but I'm thanking the goddess for them because I’ll need every helping hand I can get, and a whole lot of luck, to find the other Vindix before the Princes of Hell take over our world.
Marked by Fate is a steamy urban fantasy romance with vibes like Karen Marie Moning’s Fever Series and Chandelle LaVaughn’s Coven Series.

"The Rats in the Walls" is a short story by American author H. P. Lovecraft. Written in August–September 1923, it was first published in Weird Tales, March 1924.In 1923, an American named Delapore, the last descendant of the De la Poer family, moves to his ancestral estate in England following the death of his only son during World War I. To the dismay of nearby residents, he restores the estate, called Exham Priory. After moving in, Delapore and his cat frequently hear the sounds of rats scurrying behind the walls. Upon investigating further, and through recurring dreams, Delapore learns that his family maintained an underground city for centuries, where they raised generations of "human cattle"—some regressed to a quadrupedal state—to supply their taste for human flesh. This was stopped when Delapore's ancestor killed his entire family in their sleep and left the country in order to end the horror, leaving the remaining human livestock and a surviving relative to be devoured by the rats inhabiting the city's cesspits.Maddened by the revelations of his family's past, a hereditary cruelty and his anger over his son's death, Delapore attacks one of his friends in the dark of the cavernous city and begins eating him while rambling in a mixture of Middle English, Latin, and Gaelic, before devolving into a cacophony of animalistic grunts. He is subsequently subdued and placed in a mental institution. At least one other investigator, Thornton, has gone insane as well. Soon after, Exham Priory is destroyed and the investigators decide to cover up the existence of the city. Delapore maintains his innocence, proclaiming that it was "the rats, the rats in the walls", who ate the man. He continues to be plagued by the sound of rats in the walls of his cell.

    Brady knew two things:
It was the end of the world, and the Greens had won.
