Sinossi
National Police officer Moisés Guzmán, assigned to the Complaints Office at the Huesca Police Station, is hired by a mysterious doctor from Zaragoza to investigate a crime committed in Barcelona thirteen years earlier. In 1996, a married couple of oncologists from the city of Barcelona were brutally murdered in their apartment on Verdi Street. The crime was not investigated, as it coincided with the transfer of responsibilities between the National Police, the Civil Guard, and the Mossos d'Esquadra. Now, the Zaragoza doctor, a friend of the murdered couple, hires the services of a seasoned officer to look into what happened and find the whereabouts of the couple's daughter, who was three years old when she disappeared. The doctor is convinced she is still alive and has turned sixteen. Guzmán accepts the challenge, takes a leave of absence from the police, and travels to Barcelona to investigate the crime. There, he discovers he is not the first detective hired. Three others were hired before him, and all were murdered fifty days after they began their investigations.
