  Welcome to Voice Care and Training For Speakers. My name is Dielle, and I have been a trained vocalist since I was a child. When I started my own business as an adult, I attended a business training seminar with an exceptional speaker and coach. He was struggling with his voice due to the demands of his schedule and intense training diary. I grabbed him at tea time and gave him a few quick pointers about voice care, which made such an impact so quickly, it made me realise that many professional speakers may not have the same training as us singers, in how to care for their voices.  
  What would happen to your business or your work if you lost your voice? 
  If you speak for work, you are a professional voice user. You might be a teacher, a yoga instructor, a receptionist, a trainer, a motivational speaker, or work on the telephone. You don’t have to be an actor, politician or orator to be a professional voice user.  
  More and more our work involves doing live videos, speaking on podcasts, and giving presentations in all walks of life. This audiobook is here to help you develop and maintain fitness in your voice, primarily to keep you healthy.  
  In this book you will find exercises and advice for building strength and stamina in your voice, general voice care, developing performance skills in dynamics and modulation, and how to prepare for big events. 
  None of these exercises are intended to train your natural expression out of you, they are there to develop your comfort and skill in commanding your natural voice, and enable you to employ your greatest range of natural expression with ease.
