Sinossi

An artist books passage on a ship, accompanied by his wife and a peculiar, roughly hewn pine box that he guards with strange intensity. The narrator's assumptions about the box's contents lead to a tragic misunderstanding when a hurricane strikes the vessel. This story combines elements of mystery with a poignant study of grief and devotion. It reveals the heartbreaking reality hidden behind a facade of odd behavior.

Experience chilling real-life hauntings narrated as a soothing lullaby for the brave insomniac.

Perfect for late-night listening when the house is still, these confessions blend uncanny suspense with a hypnotic delivery designed to lull you into unconsciousness. The mood balances on the razor's edge of eerie and cozy, transforming the primal fear of the dark into a strangely comforting bedtime ritual.

Wander through lonely mountain cabins, dead hospital wings, and suburban bedrooms where the silence is heavy. Rather than relying on jarring shocks, the storytelling focuses on subtle details—the shuffle of unexplained footsteps, the slow turn of a doorknob, or the glow of a light that should be off.

What you will encounter in the shadows:
    * True Accounts: Witness shadow figures, EVP recordings, and locked room mysteries.
    * Atmospheric Immersion: Feel the fog of remote lighthouses and the chill of empty wards.
    * Sleep Aid Structure: Drift from gripping tension into a drowsy, dreamlike state as the pacing slows.

As the narrative progression softens, the line between story and soundscape blurs intentionally. Surrender to the rhythm of the unknown and let these quiet whispers guide you from sharp unease into a deep, undisturbed slumber.

The best-selling author of The Waters (a Read with Jenna Book Club Pick) returns with a tale of love, transgression, and the miraculous healing power of the holiday table.
In this contemporary Christmas Carol, Bonnie Jo Campbell has created a complex, gritty, spooky, and ultimately heartwarming holiday story that unfolds in an isolated farmhouse. It is the night before Christmas in a small town in Michigan, and a young woman is haunted by her father’s death. She has been silently penitent for nine years, but being stuck in the past has embittered her, made her cut herself off emotionally from her community and her family, despite her deep devotion to them. When a surprising guest appears at the (dreaded) Christmas Eve dinner, the family opens up to reveal their secrets. Redemption is never easy or wholesale, but sometimes a family needs a good story as much as they need to face the truth. In this remarkable exploration of crime and punishment, salvation arrives at the darkest hour. The power of familial love and a sense of humor promise a brighter and more joyful new beginning for the whole family.
