    The Pendle Witches England 1600's
Book 5 of 7 Alice Nutter The Silent Lady of Roughlee
The books are fictionally based on the true names and part facts of seven of the accused witches involved being sentenced to death mostly, although innocent, and is as follows:
Alice Nutter, the dignified Catholic widow of Roughlee Hall, became an unlikely victim of the 1612 Pendle witch trials. Unlike her impoverished co-accused, Alice was a wealthy landowner targeted for her discreet charity and suspected recusant faith. Falsely implicated by child witness Jennet Device, she refused to defend herself at trial to protect vulnerable tenants who could alibi her. Offered spectral escape in prison, Alice chose martyrdom over flight, declaring: "I will not run." On August 20, 1612, she was hanged without speaking a word in self-defense, her silence preserving both her honor and others' safety. Today, her statue in Roughlee memorializes this tragic injustice—a gentlewoman sacrificed to superstition and political vendettas. Local legend claims her ghost still walks Pendle Hill, a silent witness to history's cruelty.
This is the fifth book in a series of seven audiobooks and I do hope you enjoy ,(might not be the appropriate word, this instalment, and it's only $3 dollars.
the initial opening credit music which does run to approximately 2 minutes plus, called Haunting Elegy, uses flute and harp to set the scene of witches living life as they could. The closing music ends in a sad way, called Melancholy same instrumental at nearly 3 minutes as the fate that befalls these innocent people awaits them.!
The story itself runs to about 35 minutes, and and is narrated in my own voice.
Please let me know what you think, there are a lot more to come!.

"I exhort therefore, that intercessions be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty." - 1 Timothy 2This verse is the center of this fascinating, rip-roaring, family friendly, deeply Christian tale. A terrifying spin on Dickens' A Christmas Carol commissioned for the 1904 Special Christmas Issue of The Strand, it tells of Josiah McNason, “A case of a man gone wrong! A case of a human creature who has a stone in the place where his heart ought to be!—a hard, heavy stone, without a pulse of love or kindness in it! Sir Slasher believes it’s cancer. But if it is, they’ll never find it, McNason! No!—your cancer’s on the mind!”The goblin who announces this takes him on a terrifying voyage, in which he sees his fate as a goblin, watches a goblin preacher exhorting his congregation of fallen souls, travels to the bedside of a dying man he has refused to save, watches an atheist preacher spinning a newfangled 'faith' that ignores Christ's presence in the heart of Westminster Abbey, and faces the horrors of a fate that cares as little for him as he does for his fellow man.Paranormal and gothic, Christian and anti-church, fun and thoughtful, filled with hideous darkness and angelic light, this book is perfect for anyone looking for victorian-era penny dreadful drama and adventure with a solidly Christian spin.Corelli outsold AC Doyle, H. G. Wells, and Kipling combined. Critics hated her, calling her "the favourite of the common multitude", and she hated them in return. A favourite of Churchill, Queen Victoria and Gladstone, her friends included Mark Twain, Ouida, the Empress Frederick of Germany, and Tennyson. She was described as "a woman of deplorable talent who imagined that she was a genius, and was accepted as a genius by a public to whose commonplace sentimentalities and prejudices she gave a glamorous setting.

This witty, caustic yet compassionate novel explores the meeting of two unlikely young people in 1923: Amos Bell, the train driver of the Flying Scotsman train, and an opera singer, Madame Neil-Gregory. This is a true story.
Their Northern erratic love story takes place in cities around Britain, as Alice Neil-Gregory (her birth name) builds her career as a coloratura, eventually singing dressed as Elizabeth 1 for George V at the new Wembley Park in London. The couple struggles with changes in society after World War 1, and try to embrace becoming ‘Bright Young Things’ in a world of jazz music, silent movies, and women’s emancipation. These people break with the conventions of their working class parents, but the burning question, which keeps the reader wanting more, is ‘Will Alice ever marry Amos?’
