Sinossi

'There was nowhere to go but everywhere.' Jack Kerouac
Following on from the huge success of Beneath My Feet: Writers on Walking and Sauntering: Writers Walk Europe, Duncan Minshull, brings together the recorded footfalls of over fifty walker-writers who have travelled the world's seven continents. From the 1500s to current times come a memorable band of explorers and adventurers, scientists and missionaries, pleasure-seekers and literary drifters recalling their experiences and asking themselves a compelling question – why travel this way in the first place?
With contributions from Herman Melville, Edith Wharton, Mark Twain, Anthony Trollope, Thomas Jefferson, Charles Darwin, Vernon Lee, Sarah H. Bradford, Rabindranath Tagore, D. H. Lawrence, Isabella Bird, Katharine Mansfield, Rachel Carson, Helen Garner, Jean Pierre Clébert, Colin Thubron, William Boyd and many more, Globetrotting takes us across the streets of London, Rome, Melbourne, Cairo, Kyiv and Kabul; through the frozen wastes of Antarctica; along the pilgrim paths of Japan; into the jungles of Ghana; around the Great Wall of China.

There's no wrong way to be a woman. There are countless wrong ways to be a man.

James Breakwell should know. He's tried just about all of them. Journalism. Pig ownership. Felony lawn gnome theft. Whatever masculinity is supposed to be, this can't be it. But can you really fail at something no one can quite define? Apparently.

Now, in a series of funny, sharply observed, and occasionally poignant essays, everyone's favorite internet-famous father of four daughters lays down a lifetime of lessons in what it means to be a man. You'll laugh. You'll cry. You'll wonder what really happened to those creepy lawn gnomes on that deserted country road. (Spoiler alert: They're right behind you.)

If you ever wanted to know how to fail at altruism, dodge the priesthood, and stumble your way into unexpected wisdom, this book is for you.

How to Be a Man (Whatever that Means) presents a vision of manhood that looks very different from what you'll see on TV. And that's a good thing. Probably.

    KEANU REEVES
THE ULTIMATE TRIVIA AND CURIOUS FACTS COLLECTION

    CREATED BY TRIVIA HUB

Keanu Reeves, born in Beirut, Lebanon, is a Canadian actor and musician known for his diverse roles and amiable public image. He gained early recognition in films like Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure and Point Break, then transitioned to more mature roles in movies like My Own Private Idaho. Reeves achieved a resurgence with The Matrix franchise and the John Wick series. He also plays bass guitar in the band Dogstar, and has recently toured in support of their new album. Reeves is also a philanthropist who has a private cancer foundation that supports children's hospitals and cancer research.

    CURIOUS FACT SAMPLES:

Keanu Reeves was born in Beirut, Lebanon, on September 2, 1964, to a costume designer mother and an American father with Native Hawaiian, Chinese, English, and Portuguese descent. His first name means "cool breeze over the mountains" in Hawaiian.

Reeves's parents divorced when he was young, and his mother moved the family to various locations, including Sydney and New York City, before settling in Toronto. He attended four different high schools and was eventually expelled from the Etobicoke School of the Arts for being "too rambunctious".

Reeves has dyslexia, which he says contributed to him not being a good student. He was a successful ice hockey goalkeeper with aspirations to play for the Canadian Olympic team, but his hockey career ended due to an injury.

Early in his acting career, agents suggested he change his name because it was "too ethnic". He briefly used "K. C." or "Casey" Reeves before reverting to his given name.
