Sinossi

A VPS—or virtual private server—is a virtual machine that provides virtualized server resources on a physical server that is shared with other users. With VPS hosting, you get dedicated server space with a reserved number of resources, offering greater control and customization than shared hosting.Virtual server can vary, depending on the use case. Often located in an off-site data center or cloud environment, virtualizing servers involves converting one physical server into multiple virtual machines (VMs). A virtual server is configured so that multiple users can share its processing power. Cloud servers are virtual (not physical) servers running in a cloud computing environment that can be accessed on demand by unlimited users. Cloud servers work just like physical servers and they perform similar functions like storing data and running applications.I wrote previously in 2020  a report with the name: “Quick Guide for Obtaining Free Remote Desktop Protocol  (RDP) Services”. It covered getting free or cheap RDP service from some Virtual Private Servers providers such as: freerdpserver.com,  Google Cloud, Qwiklabs.com, Alibabacloud.com, CloudSigma.com, Microsoft Azure, Free Microsoft Azure RDP/VPS through Sandbox subscription,  AWS Amazon, free RDP service with Amazon AWS Educate, free trial RDP/VPS from OVH CLOUD. This is the link of my previous report:https://www.amazon.com/Obtaining-Remote-Desktop-Protocol-Services/dp/B08NDRBPPCThis report continues the topic through evaluating  other useful options for widely used virtual private server hosting providers, some of them free.Note that Github now restricts the accounts that try to create workflow related to  RDP severs as they consider that will cause burdens to their servers so my account was restricted and I could not run the Github workflows presented in this report. The report contains the following sections:1. Preview about Ngrok.com functionality.2. Different methods to obtain free  RDP using Google Cloud Shell:3. Different methods to obtain free  RDP using Github.com website.4. With employers offering free flu shots and pharmacies expanding into one-stop shops to prevent everything from shingles to tetanus, vaccines are ubiquitous in contemporary life. The past fifty years have witnessed an enormous upsurge in vaccines and immunization in the United States: American children now receive more vaccines than any previous generation, and laws requiring their immunization against a litany of diseases are standard. Yet, while vaccination rates have soared and cases of preventable infections have plummeted, an increasingly vocal cross section of Americans have questioned the safety and necessity of vaccines. In Vaccine Nation, Elena Conis explores this complicated history and its consequences for personal and public health.
Vaccine Nation opens in the 1960s, when government scientists—triumphant following successes combating polio and smallpox—considered how the country might deploy new vaccines against what they called the “milder” diseases, including measles, mumps, and rubella. In the years that followed, Conis reveals, vaccines fundamentally changed how medical professionals, policy administrators, and ordinary Americans came to perceive the diseases they were designed to prevent. She brings this history up to the present with an insightful look at the past decade’s controversy over the implementation of the Gardasil vaccine for HPV, which sparked extensive debate because of its focus on adolescent girls and young women. Through this and other examples, Conis demonstrates how the acceptance of vaccines and vaccination policies has been as contingent on political and social concerns as on scientific findings.
By setting the complex story of American vaccination within the country’s broader history, Vaccine Nation goes beyond the simple story of the triumph of science over disease and provides a new and perceptive account of the role of politics and social forces in medicine.

    Saving Ourselves from Big Car

Cars are killing people and making the planet uninhabitable. Crashes take the lives of more than a million people each year. Air pollution linked to motor vehicles contributes to even more untimely deaths. Highways and unsafe streets have devastated cities, yet traffic congestion still swallows up countless hours. And carbon emissions from transportation are a key driver of climate change, which threatens to make the world unlivable. Why do we still worship at the altar of the car? How can we find alternatives that are healthier for the planet and ourselves?

This book exposes how "Big Car"—the complex of companies in the automobile, oil, insurance, media, and concrete industries that promote and entrench car dependence—has pursued profit at the expense of the common good. David Obst explores how Big Car gained almost immeasurable influence over our lives, weighing the benefits and the costs of reliance on private automobiles. He details how industry covered up the harms of lead additives, fought against seatbelts, and continues to fund climate-change denialism. Obst considers the future of mobility, surveying how cities are experimenting with forms of transportation that offer alternatives to the dominance of cars. Provocative and comprehensive, Saving Ourselves from Big Car is a wake-up call for us to change how we use cars before it's too late.
