Greek mythology influences us today. For instance, did you know that the famous athletic brand Nike comes from the Greek goddess of victory?
Greek mythology has, without a doubt, some of the most well-known legends in the world. Like most people, the Olympians had their fair share of family drama. This audiobook pays strict attention to the genealogy of the Greek gods and the relationships they had with one another, whether they were good, bad, or incestuous.
These divine beings gifted humanity joy and despair, and the ancient peoples of Greece and other countries related their own world to the actions of the gods. However, the gods and Titans were all corporeal and capable of physical interaction with humanity. They were no different than the dirt on the ground or the clouds in the sky. They could be seen and touched—especially touched, given their numerous children produced from unions with gods and demi-gods alike.
The heavy amount of interaction that humans had with the gods and goddesses in Greek mythology allowed them to make sense of the world order in which they found themselves. It was a constant reminder that all beings in the heavens, earth, and below were all cogs of the same system. In this audiobook, you will discover:The intriguing relationships between gods, men, demi-gods, and monstersThe connection between divinity and weakness. Not only men make mistakes; even seemingly perfect beings screw up regularly. The importance of love as a guiding force of nature and life in generalA practical understanding of the motivations of both men and gods behind their less-than-honorable actionsHow hard work might end in tragedyThe importance of family in Greek mythologyAnd much more!

For centuries, intelligence was our defining advantage, the spark that built civilizations, forged languages, and powered every leap of progress. Now, as artificial intelligence begins to outthink us, humanity faces its most profound question yet: When machines become intelligent, what remains uniquely ours?
In The Human Spark - Beyond AI, world-renowned futurist Christian Kromme reveals that the next great revolution won't be technological; it will be human. Technology is no longer just transforming what we do; it's reshaping who we are. As algorithms master logic and efficiency, we're being called to awaken a deeper form of intelligence, one rooted in intuition, awareness, empathy, creativity, and purpose.
Drawing inspiration from nature's four billion years of cellular evolution, neuroscience, and real-world innovation, Kromme charts our transition from Human 3.0, shaped by intellect and industry, to Human 4.0, guided by awareness, adaptability, and connection.
This is not a book about machines. It's a roadmap for those ready to lead, create, and live with greater consciousness in the age of AI.
Because the future won't be built by more intelligent algorithms. It will be shaped by wiser humans.

    Struggle for Constantinople The:...

The Byzantine Empire was the heir to two great cultures that cradled and nurtured European civilization: Greece and Rome. Constantinople, now called Istanbul, became a center of power, culture, trade, and technology poised on the edges of Europe and Asia, and its influence was felt not only throughout Europe but the Middle East, Africa, Central Asia, and the Far East. Coins dating from the reign of Emperor Justinian I (r.527-565) have been found in southern India, and Chinese records show that the “Fulin,” as the Chinese named the Byzantines, were received at court as early as 643. For nearly a thousand years, the Byzantine Empire protected Europe from Islamic powers, allowing it to pursue its own destiny, and Byzantium was a polyglot society in which a multitude of ethnic groups lived under the emperor prizing peace above war.
Of course, it wasn’t an accident that Constantinople survived for so long. Walls have protected great civilizations and occasionally been their downfall, and the Byzantine Empire relied on Constantinople’s extensive, sophisticated walls, among the greatest engineering achievements of the ancient world and Early Middle Ages, to survive as long as it did.
The Umayyad Caliphate constantly fought the Byzantines, and on August 15, 717, their formidable army, under the command of General Maslama ibn 'Abd al-Malik, arrived in Thrace and laid siege to the imposing walls of Constantinople. This event, which lasted a full year until August 15, 718, represented the apex of the Islamic expansionist project aimed at definitively eradicating the Byzantine Empire and subjugating its seemingly impregnable capital.
The Fourth Crusade from 1202-1204 was significant in medieval history because it was the first time a crusade was directed against another Christian group. It was also significant since it encompassed two of the four major sieges of Constantinople, and it also sparked a third in 1235 (an unsuccessful attempt to reverse the Latin gains in 1204).
