Sinossi

A Treatise of Human Nature is a book by philosopher David Hume. The introduction presents the idea of placing all science and philosophy on a novel foundation: namely, an empirical investigation into human psychology.

It is evident, that all the sciences have a relation, greater or less, to human nature: and that however wide any of them may seem to run from it, they still return back by one passage or another. Even. Mathematics, Natural Philosophy, and Natural Religion, are in some measure dependent on the science of MAN; since the lie under the cognizance of men, and are judged of by their powers and faculties. It is impossible to tell what changes and improvements we might make in these sciences were we thoroughly acquainted with the extent and force of human understanding, and could explain the nature of the ideas we employ, and of the operations we perform in our reasonings. And these improvements are the more to be hoped for in natural religion, as it is not content with instructing us in the nature of superior powers, but carries its views farther, to their disposition towards us, and our duties towards them; and consequently we ourselves are not only the beings, that reason, but also one of the objects, concerning which we reason.

If therefore the sciences of Mathematics, Natural Philosophy, and Natural Religion, have such a dependence on the knowledge of man, what may be expected in the other sciences, whose connexion with human nature is more close and intimate? The sole end of logic is to explain the principles and operations of our reasoning faculty, and the nature of our ideas: morals and criticism regard our tastes and sentiments: and politics consider men as united in society, and dependent on each other. In these four sciences of Logic, Morals, Criticism, and Politics, is comprehended almost everything, which it can any way import us to be acquainted with, or which can tend either to the improvement or ornament of the human mind.

Surrender, white people! After 400 years of white supremacy in America, a reckoning is here. Time to listen up, look history in the face, and surrender unjust privilege. These are the terms of peace–and they are unconditional. Hope you have a sense of humor, because this is gonna sting.
The legendary activist/comedian and author of the “hilarious yet soul-shaking” (Black Enterprise) bestseller How Not to Get Shot returns to address a nation on the edge of civil war.
After centuries of oppressing others, white people are in for a surprise: You’re about to be a minority yourself. Yes, the face of America is getting a lot browner—and a reckoning is coming. Black and brown folk are not going to take a back seat anymore. It’s time to lay down your unjust privileges and sue for peace while the getting’s still good. Lucky for America, D.L. Hughley has a plan.
On the eve of America becoming a majority-minority nation, Hughley warns, the only way for America to move forward peacefully is if Whites face their history, put aside all their visions of superiority, and open up their institutions so they benefit everyone in this nation.  But we can still have fun with this right?  Surrender, White People! hilariously holds America account for its wrongs and offers his satirical terms for reparations and reconciliation.
But it’s not all bad news, white folks. The upside is that if you put D.L.’s plan into effect, you can FINALLY get black people to stop talking about oppression, discrimination, and their place in America. That’s something we can get behind.

Shattered Empire chronicles the dramatic centuries that reshaped the Byzantine Empire from the height of its medieval power to the brink of collapse and eventual renewal. This volume explores the unraveling of imperial authority after Basil II, the catastrophic defeat at Manzikert, the Komnenian restoration, and the complex entanglements with the Crusades. It delves into the empire’s role as a diplomatic broker, the economic and religious controversies that rocked its foundations, and the devastating sack of Constantinople in 1204. Through the lens of exile and resilience, the book reveals how Byzantium’s people, faith, and culture endured, adapted, and ultimately laid the groundwork for a remarkable, if fragile, recovery.

I’ve written quite a few books about spirituality and my experiences and beliefs in our abilities to expand our consciousness through spiritual development practices, meditation, and the paranormal. This book includes my experiences with paranormal abilities acquired from the spiritual development process and different enlightenment experiences.Having been raised in a technical family and gone to engineering school my perspective is pretty unique since I developed both traditional technical knowledge of the world while I was also going through the spiritual development and enlightenment process. There are many engineers and scientists who are also religious but I’ve found that technical people who are as deeply into spiritual enlightenment practices and paranormal experiences are pretty rare. What I’ve found is that this dual background has given me more clarity about the world we live in and better objectivity in many cases regarding strange or unusual phenomena. The theme of this book is to review how I went through this dual track system of learning in my life to become both a traditional engineer and to have fairly adept knowledge of spiritual and paranormal experiences.

The Epic of Gilgamesh stands as one of the greatest literary works of the ancient world and the oldest surviving epic poem in human history. Originating from ancient Mesopotamia over 4,000 years ago, it was inscribed on clay tablets in cuneiform script and preserved through centuries of oral tradition. This epic tells the story of Gilgamesh, the mighty king of Uruk, whose adventures, friendships, and struggles with mortality continue to captivate readers to this day. As both a historical and mythical figure, Gilgamesh represents the universal human desire for glory, wisdom, and eternal life.

The epic was rediscovered in the 19th century among the ruins of the great Assyrian library of King Ashurbanipal in Nineveh. Scholars painstakingly translated its fragmented tablets, revealing a narrative that predates even the Homeric epics of Greece. Its influence can be seen in later mythologies, including biblical and classical traditions, with themes and motifs that echo throughout world literature. The story’s philosophical depth, particularly its exploration of human limitations and the acceptance of mortality, remains profoundly relevant.

Central to the Epic of Gilgamesh are its rich mythological elements, which reflect the beliefs and values of ancient Mesopotamian civilization. The gods play an active role in shaping the fate of mortals, highlighting the intricate relationship between divine forces and human ambition. From the creation of Enkidu as Gilgamesh’s equal to the wrath of the gods following their defiance, the narrative explores the balance between power and responsibility. The story also delves into themes of friendship, grief, and self-discovery, making it a timeless reflection of the human condition.

    What if virginity wasn't a fact—but a strategy?
In a world obsessed with chastity, control, and feminine mystique, The Virgin Strategist exposes the raw mechanics behind one of society's most powerful illusions: the untouchable woman. This isn't a book about sex—it's about the absence of it, and the social currency that "not giving in" can generate.
From purity culture to OnlyFans rebrands, this book explores how modern women wield the idea of virginity—real or fabricated—as a weapon of control, manipulation, and upward mobility. Whether she's a born-again good girl, a celibate tease, or a single mother suddenly setting moral boundaries, the Virgin Strategist isn't lying. She's surviving. She's performing. And she's winning.
Drawing from psychology, sociology, and unapologetic real-world case studies, this brutal analysis dives into:How celibacy can command more power than sexThe female fear of being "too available"Faux purity as brandingLong-distance virginity performancesEmotional withholding and religious re-inventionAnd the emotional toll of always pretending to be "clean"
The Virgin Strategist is not for the faint-hearted. It is for readers who want to understand the game behind the innocence, the strategy behind the smile, and the power behind the "no."
Dead serious. Laughably real. Disturbingly true.
