A thrilling new novel in the award-winning Dan Clement series.
A violent death by crucifixion near a remote north-west station has Detective Inspector Dan Clement and his Broome police officers disturbed and baffled. Other local incidents - the theft of explosives from a Halls Creek mine site, social justice protests at an abattoir, a break-in at a child-health care clinic - seem mundane by comparison. But as Clement starts to make troubling connections between each crime, he finds himself caught in a terrifying race. In a landmass larger than Western Europe, he must identify and protect an unknown target before it is blown to bits by an invisible enemy.

Gallegher: A Newspaper Story is a pulse-pounding tale of grit, courage, and the relentless chase for truth—told through the eyes of one of literature’s most unforgettable young heroes.
Gallegher isn’t your ordinary office boy. Street-smart, fearless, and full of fire, he’s the smallest member of the Press newsroom…but also the one with the biggest heart for a breaking story. When a prominent lawyer is found murdered and the prime suspect vanishes without a trace, every reporter in Philadelphia is buzzing—but it’s Gallegher who catches the scent that could crack the case wide open.
What begins as a routine night in the newsroom explodes into a high-stakes pursuit involving criminal masterminds, undercover clues, a secret fight club, and a desperate race through a freezing, snow-choked city. Armed with nothing but his wits, determination, and a soaked notebook, Gallegher must outrun danger, dodge the police, outsmart a fugitive—and somehow “beat the town” back to the newsroom before the presses roll.
Packed with humor, suspense, and heart, this classic Richard Harding Davis adventure captures the roaring energy of old-school journalism and the timeless thrill of chasing a story no one else can get.
Narrated with vivid charm and cinematic tension by John Young, this production brings Gallegher’s world to life like never before.
A must-listen for fans of classic adventure, newspaper noir, and underdog heroes with unstoppable grit.

Having decided to redecorate Woodside Cottage, Jude engages the services of local man Pete, who painted and decorated the homes of Fethering residents for many years. Pete is currently working on Footscrow House, a large Victorian building that is being converted into holiday flats by a local developer. Having arranged to meet at Fiasco House, as it is known locally due to the many failed business enterprises over the years, Jude and Pete make a surprising discovery behind a wall panel: a woman's handbag! The casual discovery becomes serious when the police identify the handbag's owner as Anita Garner, a young woman who vanished under suspicious circumstances twenty years earlier. Determined to find out what really happened to Anita all those years ago, Jude and her neighbor, Carole, investigate—and are plunged into a maze of deception and murder.
