Summary

Eight weeks is a long time to be closed in a cage working from home and only exiting the confines of the four walls to shop for food, in our free time in self isolation we can torment ourselves by gorging on social media or online newspapers searching for a sign of the end of the pandemic but only find vile lies and despair, or we can withdraw into ourselves looking for an answer somewhere in our past, in our memories and in our childhood. This collection of poetry was born from the self-isolation of the poet Darren Hobson who has already written a collection of Poetry from March and April 2020 about the Pandemic, this eBook continues the themes of the first Pandemic Days but Phase II goes deeper into his memories, uncovering new anxieties and questions himself on how he perceives himself. The nightmare continues with no cure in sight as the world governments put industry first and it's citizens at risk from a hidden deadly enemy this poet writes another harsh, crude account of his version of self isolation and whether or not we can survive mentally and physically. Who should pay for their actions and reactions to the current state of the world, can the traditional ideas of industry and politics continue to destroy what is left of humanity?

What is compassion? Something alive perhaps, that can only be understood in practice. So often confused with pity or the self-sacrificing impulse to take on another’s burden, to make things better, to fix. It takes strength and delicacy and it doesn’t mean giving away your life savings.Self compassion is sometimes the place between pushing through and giving up, the moment we can recognize our true needs, not our desires even if they’re for further suffering. Sometimes the moment we find self compassion is the moment we stop and walk away. I had found forgiveness in Switzerland and now I was heading to friends in Rome before taking the leap to South East Asia, to Sri Lanka, to a new understanding of compassion and self compassion. The fourth in the Camino de la Luna series by Pearl Howie. From Genoa (or Genova), through Rome and on to Sicily, I finally make it back to London and from there continue falling forwards to South East Asia, hoping for a soft landing in Sri Lanka. It's in Sri Lanka that I open my heart and discover a new understanding of what compassion is…Perfect for those who enjoy an adventure travel story and want to know what it's really like to take off round the world with a rucksack.

The Road to Villa Page: A He Said/She Said Memoir of Buying Our Dream Home in France is the first in a series of books that captures the experience of living in the Dordogne region of France, as filtered through the eyes of an American family from a “he said, she said” perspective. Our story begins with falling in love with France, specifically the enchanting Dordogne. We weren’t the first and we won’t be the last. The region was an inspiration to prehistoric man, as the earliest known works of art are to be found in the nearby caves of Lascaux. From the 1000 chateaux perched on towering cliffs overhanging the meandering Dordogne River to the countless plus beaux villages (most beautiful villages) dotting the region, it is truly a magical place. The first book is a roller-coaster ride of the ups and downs of making the dream a reality, beginning with, Oh my God, are we really doing this?! To looking for the home, getting a loan, wading through the red tape of actually moving, and studying French! Finally, the most important part of making “our” dream come true, adopting a baby girl to make the journey complete.

Jesus Is Not Republican - A...

This sassy memoir by a party girl with a broken heart takes an irreverent look at religious teachings that made her an easy victim of a love gone wrong. And in telling her story, she shows how the right hijacked Jesus—and gives moderates and progressives of all faiths and of no faith a recipe for taking back God, flag and country.
Here are revelations, Kate Rice style. For example, the Apostle Paul says (in ancient Greek), shit happens. (Corinthians 6; 1-13). Also, Bible wasn’t written in English. It was written Aramaic, Hebrew and ancient Greek. A literal interpretation of the Bible is impossible.
She introduces the tatted up minister who preaches the joy of sex, church-going progressives standing strong in a rural America that is not as red as you think, and believers and non-believers who work together!
This battle-scarred veteran of three different religions explains our nation’s wrestling match with religion, politics, and sex by viewing it through the prism of her own struggles. She pokes fun at hypocrites but shows love and respect for true people of faith. And then she gives us all a pep talk about what we can do to keep our nation one that guarantees freedom for all.
