Sinossi

Eight weeks is a long time to be closed in a cage working from home and only exiting the confines of the four walls to shop for food, in our free time in self isolation we can torment ourselves by gorging on social media or online newspapers searching for a sign of the end of the pandemic but only find vile lies and despair, or we can withdraw into ourselves looking for an answer somewhere in our past, in our memories and in our childhood. This collection of poetry was born from the self-isolation of the poet Darren Hobson who has already written a collection of Poetry from March and April 2020 about the Pandemic, this eBook continues the themes of the first Pandemic Days but Phase II goes deeper into his memories, uncovering new anxieties and questions himself on how he perceives himself. The nightmare continues with no cure in sight as the world governments put industry first and it's citizens at risk from a hidden deadly enemy this poet writes another harsh, crude account of his version of self isolation and whether or not we can survive mentally and physically. Who should pay for their actions and reactions to the current state of the world, can the traditional ideas of industry and politics continue to destroy what is left of humanity?

Welcome to the hilarious, strange, elegiac, outrageous world of David Sedaris! In Naked, Sedaris turns the mania for memoir on its ear, mining the exceedingly rich terrain of his life, his family, and his unique worldview-a sensibility at once take-no-prisoners sharp and deeply charitable. A tart-tongued mother does dead-on imitations of her young son's nervous tics to the great amusement of his teachers; a stint of Kerouackian wandering is undertaken (of course!) with a quadriplegic companion; a family gathers for a wedding in the face of imminent death. Through it all is Sedaris's unmistakably hilarious voice—without doubt one of the freshest in American writing.“If you’re looking for some comic relief, look no further than David Sedaris.” ―NPR

From critically acclaimed comedian Becky Lucas comes a funny, consoling and very candid collection of stories and essays about friends, enemies and figuring it out that establishes her as one of today's most original comedy writers.

There's no such thing as a perfect life, but there are perfectly hilarious moments. The best stories are often about the lowest points in our lives - the soul-crushing jobs, the bad boyfriends, the terrible holidays, the betrayals and heartbreaks. These are the stories I tell people to make them like me, but, more importantly, they've helped me learn how to like myself.
So this book is a collection of thankyous and acknowledgments:
    * Thank you to an ex-lover who marvelled at the fact he could get hard with me, even though I wasn't up to his usual standard.
    * Thank you to the coked-up real estate agent who, while lecturing me and my friend about the importance of travelling, fell down a flight of stairs.
    * Thank you to the woman who approached me after a gig and told me she hoped her daughter wouldn't end up like me.
You've all taught me that you can't control who comes into your life or what happens to you, but you can decide just what it is you take from them.

In 1894, Oscar Wilde (1854 - 1900) published two collections of aphorisms: "A Few Maxims For The Instruction Of The Over-Educated", in the Saturday Review newspaper, and Phrases and Philosophies for the Use of the Young", in the Oxford student magazine The Chameleon. By turns witty, intellectual, counter-intuitive and obtruse, the collections came to be seen by many as emblematic of Wilde's style, and countless collections of Wildean aphorisms have since been published. Bawdy, shocking, and hilarious interpretations of classic and rare fairy tales from a beloved TikTok storyteller
Based on the wildly popular TikTok series, F*cked Up Fairy Tales presents modern retellings of some of the strangest and darkest stories humans have invented. Inspired by sources across the world, “Cosbrarian” Liz Gotauco conjures gossipy animals, homicidal royals, doomed commoners, and shape-shifting beaux—all reckoning with complicated, adult problems that “Disney versions” have sanitized. Gotauco offers insight into the stories’ contested origins, spills deliciously weird details about fairy tale authors, and explores timeless themes that have long tickled the human subconscious, from accidental bestiality and catastrophic marriages to the vexed question of what to do with your murderous lindworm child. Sexy, disturbing, and outrageous, F*cked Up Fairy Tales celebrates the astonishing diversity of the oral tradition, reaffirming our universal love for a story that’s messy as f*ck.
