Sinossi

Alfred Damon Runyon was best known for his short stories celebrating the world of Broadway in New York City that grew out of the Prohibition era. To New Yorkers of his generation, a "Damon Runyon character" evoked a distinctive social type from Brooklyn or Midtown Manhattan. The term "Runyonesque" was coined to refer to this type of character and the type of situations and dialog that Runyon depicts. The novel "Runyon from First to Last" is a collection of his short stories. Some of the stories included are: "Old Em's Kentucky Home", "A Light in France", "Barbecue" "Little Pinks" "Blonde Mink" "Big Boy Blues" and "Cleo".

Some stories are written. Mine was lived.
In these fifty days, I didn’t just tell a tale – I let truth strip me bare.
Every chapter is a confession, every pause a heartbeat, every whisper a choice I can’t take back.
Volume Two of 50 Days of Passion takes you deeper into the fire – where tenderness meets raw desire, where silence speaks louder than words, and where love is tested, broken, and reborn.
It is not a fantasy. It is an autobiographical experience lived in real time, with no filters and no apologies.
If you are ready to listen without judgment, to feel without holding back…
Then step inside and don’t look back.

A deeply personal exploration of childless and childfree women in their own words.

Others Like Me is the story of fourteen women around the world, from different walks of life, who don't have children. It's also the story of why Nicole Louie had to find these women and what they taught her. Part memoir, part exploration of childlessness through candid conversations, this book showcases the many ways in which people find fulfillment outside of parenthood. And because the social expectation to procreate weighs the most on women, Louie focuses solely on them, their experiences, and how they flourish outside of motherhood. In doing so, she upends the stereotypes that diminish women who are childless by choice, circumstance, or ambivalence and offers reassurance and companionship on a path less known.

‘A searingly honest account of her journey, from heartbreak to joy’ Daily Mail
Sarah’s first book, For the Love of Oscar, tells the story of her first child Oscar’s birth, his postnatal diagnosis of Down Syndrome and his adventures up to the age of four. Don’t Be Sorry continues Oscar’s story, from age four to nine.
It covers Oscar’s life in a local mainstream infant school, with all its challenges and triumphs, including friendships and how the other children respond to Oscar. Sarah describes her struggles navigating medical appointments and hospital admissions, all the while maintaining her mission gently to educate others. There are many preconceived ideas and misconceptions about what it means to have a child like Oscar in one’s life.
Sarah’s story is one for any parent; it is not just about the highs and lows of having a child with additional needs, but also simply as a mum of three. She talks candidly about coming to terms with the decision to move Oscar to a SEN (Special Educational Needs) school, another big milestone in Oscar’s young life.
Whilst Sarah may have found herself on a different path to the one she’d imagined for herself, it has not been a bad one. There is sadness, certainly; and there have been struggles along the way; but there has been so much laughter and happiness, too.

For the fiftieth anniversary of his murder, this gritty, engrossing, definitive biography of the legendary Black writer Donald Goines—the Godfather of Urban Street Lit and "one of hip hop's greatest inspirations" (The Source Magazine)—is back.

Addict, thief, pimp, pusher, player—and most notably, groundbreaking writer. Donald Goines was all of these.

As a kid, Donald Goines was the product of a middle-class family. After high school, he joined the Air Force—and discovered the heroin that would rule the remainder of his life. On the streets, he turned to writing when he was straight enough to keep at it. He used the language of the streets and he wrote of its people. Goines's success was immediate and exciting. But eventually those same streets claimed him. He was murdered as he sat writing a new book. Yet his legacy continues, as a revolutionary in the literary world and also in music, with major hip-hop artists including 50 Cent, Nas, and Jay-Z all crediting Goines's novels as influences. Here is his complete story.
