Sinossi

An eccentric, teasing yarn of a play from the multi-award winning author of The Weir.
A cynical and jaded drama critic falls for a beautiful young actress. In pursuing her, he meets a group of modern-day vampires who offer him eternal life - his part of the bargain is to feed their bloodlust.
'a delectably droll celebration of storytelling as striptease. McPherson's ear for detail is devastating' New York Times

It's 1972. An era of possibility and polyester and pubic hair.
Ziggy Stardust is on Top of the Pops, Penny is writing an essay on Lady Chatterley's Lover and Christine is watching Deepthroat. Brian is confused. Our parents are 20 and they're having sex.
The Wardrobe Ensemble's play 1972: The Future of Sex is a 90-minute romp through the ins and outs of those excellently awkward first sexual encounters. Devised by the company, the show uses The Wardrobe Ensemble's trademark inventive theatricality, irreverent humour and spectacular ensemble moments to tell the story of three couples having sex for the first time in 1972.
1972: The Future of Sex was first staged by The Wardrobe Ensemble at Latitude Festival and Shoreditch Town Hall in 2015, before playing the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
'[Has an] emotional underpinning that turns an entertaining romp full of spot-on period detail into something deeper and more poignant' - Guardian

The Rover, or The Banish'd Cavaliers, is a play in two parts written by the English author Aphra Behn. The first part features multiple plot lines, dealing with the amorous adventures of a group of Englishmen in Naples at Carnival time. The "rover" of the play's title is Willmore, a rakish naval captain, who falls in love with a young woman named Hellena, who has set out to experience love before her brother sends her to a convent. Complications arise when Angellica Bianca, a famous courtesan, falls in love with Willmore and swears revenge on him for his betrayal. Meanwhile, Hellena's sister Florinda attempts to marry her true love, Colonel Belvile, rather than the man her brother has selected. The third major plot of the play deals with the provincial Blunt, who becomes convinced that a girl has fallen in love with him but is humiliated when she turns out to be a prostitute and a thief. 'I am the slave ship. Wrecked. Empty. I am a shark, livid with the desire for blood. I am the sea, boiling with fury.'
Amid the gloom of Victorian England, a black sailor, Thomas, prepares to take one last voyage, while an ageing painter, J.M.W. Turner, seeks artistic inspiration in a half-remembered story. In twenty-first-century London, an actress finds herself handcuffed by history – two centuries after abolitionists won her ancestors their freedom.
Winsome Pinnock's astonishing play retells British history through the prism of the slave trade. Fusing fact with fiction, past with present, the powerfully personal with the fiercely political, Rockets and Blue Lights asks who owns our past – and who has the right to tell its stories?
Winner of the 2018 Alfred Fagon Award, the play opened at the Royal Exchange Theatre, Manchester, in March 2020, directed by Miranda Cromwell.

From being a resident physician during the COVID-19 pandemic to living passionately in travel, romance, and heartache, Rodolfo Villarreal-Calderon is a literary chef to an audience who did not realize their hunger—until served his Word Meal. It is a two-part course: first, 99 poems, and second, an 82-page short story (novella).
The poetry is organized around the three abstractions that connect us all—Love, Time, and Death. Love of lovers, of dogs, and of self; the Death of body, our past, and who we once were; the Time within which this all transpires—the Time of your life. You are invited to explore each abstraction and their combinations. Buffet style.
In the drama that is a healthcare encounter, the patient is—and always will be—the protagonist. Get Well Soon! is a novella revolving around a patient admitted to the hospital. The patient narrator reflects on the experiences of being well and ill, as well as the subtle and comical workings of an academic hospital team and hospital stay.

Do you want to listen to The Rime of The Ancient Mariner? If so then keep reading…The Poem relates the experiences of a sailor who has returned from a long sea voyage. The mariner stops a man who is on the way to a wedding ceremony and begins to narrate a story. The wedding-guest's reaction turns from bemusement to impatience to fear to fascination as the mariner's story progresses, as can be seen in the language style: Coleridge uses narrative techniques such as personification and repetition to create a sense of danger, the supernatural, or serenity, depending on the mood in different parts of the poem. What are you waiting for The Rime of The Ancient Mariner is one click away, select the “Download” button in the top right corner NOW!
