Sinossi

A celebratory dinner and engagement ceremony is to be held at a large home in Our Village, in southeast Turkey. Halil, the cousin of the future bride, Leyla, is sent to a nearby village to buy the traditional cologne. Leyla's sister, Maral, is told to go door-to-door to remind everyone to attend. Throughout the long day, the other women of the household clean, cook and toil. Meanwhile, a dust storm descends out of nowhere and a menacing mist settles over the village streets.
This harrowing tale, which spans sixteen hours and is told through the eyes of a mysterious narrator, delves into the bad blood between two timeless villages where most of the men are heavily armed village guards, and there is money to be made in agriculture, oil, fish farms and more. Geographical complexities, tangled relations, hazy memories and unreliable witnesses make for a story in which perhaps is nothing as it seems…

This is the first of six audiobooks in the series, the others will become available in the very near future and I do hope you enjoy this second instalment, and it's only $3, all subsequent will remain at that price as I would not like price to be a barrier to your enjoyment.

I have worked very hard and meticulously to provide you with an enjoyable experience, the initial opening credit music which does run to approximately 2 minutes sets the scene, so to speak, accordion, fiddle, harmonica and bango in a classical sea shanty jig called Edwards Journey”(through this story). The closing music ends the tale looking forward to the next story at about 2 minutes long and the same musical instruments and is called Edwards Voyage (to the next story). Blackbeard's real name was Edward Teach.

The story itself runs to about 13 minutes is is narrated in my own voice.

I do hope you and your family, if applicable, enjoy this audiobook and let me know what you think, there are a lot more to come!

"He was a magnificent pyre of flesh... but there was no soul in the light of his eyes."

Humphrey Van Weyden, a soft, bookish literary critic, is a passenger on a ferry that sinks in the fog of San Francisco Bay. He is rescued by the Ghost, a seal-hunting schooner bound for Japan. But his savior is no hero. Wolf Larsen, the captain of the Ghost, is a man of immense physical strength and terrifying intelligence who views human life as "cheap" and "a ferment." Forced into grueling labor, Humphrey must adapt to Larsen's world of violence or perish. The novel becomes a deadly psychological game as the "Sissy" Van Weyden attempts to maintain his humanity while being molded by the "Sea-Wolf."

The Superhuman vs. The Scholar: Wolf Larsen is one of literature's most formidable antagonists. A self-taught philosopher who reads Spencer and Nietzsche, he believes only in the reality of the flesh. The arrival of the captive poetess Maud Brewster shifts the stakes, turning the Ghost into a floating laboratory where the three characters clash over the existence of the soul and the meaning of love.

A Struggle for Dominance: London's vivid prose captures the visceral reality of life at sea—the gutting of seals, the roar of the storms, and the constant threat of mutiny. As Wolf Larsen's body begins to fail him due to mysterious headaches, the power dynamic shifts, leading to a climactic struggle for survival on a deserted island.

Face the wolf of the sea. Purchase "The Sea-Wolf" today and test your own strength of will.

Step into a whimsical, prehistoric England where myths come alive and bravery is a matter of perspective. The Dreadful Dragon of Hay Hill by Max Beerbohm is a delightful satirical fable that blends gentle humor with timeless themes of courage, self-discovery, and community.
When smoke rises from Hay Hill, whispers of a dreadful dragon awaken fear and excitement among the villagers. Enter Thia, a spirited young girl with more curiosity than caution, and Thol, a bashful boy eager to prove his worth despite his doubts. As the two youngsters confront not only the dragon but their own insecurities, Beerbohm’s playful wit shines through in this charming tale of inflated legends and very human fears.
Narrated with warmth and charm by Simon Relph, this audiobook offers listeners a lighthearted adventure that pokes fun at heroic conventions while celebrating the quiet courage found in unexpected places.
Perfect for fans of whimsical folklore, classic satire, and character-driven storytelling.
