  "Chattering at School" is a series of animal poems that invites the reader to learn and marvel at all the wonders of the natural world. The poems include fun narratives on the surface, while containing learning and teaching moments as the poems unfold. The book has lovely illustrations and is full of moral lessons. 
  The introduction to Chattering at School: Nature poems for children explains that these poems were written by a schoolboy aged 11 to 18 (1951-58) during his annual summer holiday visits to his grandmother on her small farm in Ireland. She had been his carer and guardian from the time of the German Blitz of London where he was born, and lived with her until the war ended in 1945. He then returned to his unknown parents, who had been unable to visit him in Ireland from the UK during the war. 
  Over 60 years later, the author of these poems - Edward Forde Hickey - discovered them (his own schoolboy attempts at writing poetry) lying in the attic and felt they were worth recording publicly.

  Life, a fleeting shadow, a whisper in the wind, 
  We wander lost, adrift in the void, 
  Seeking solace in the darkness, 
  Yet finding only echoes of our own despair. 
  What is truth? What is meaning? 
  These questions haunt me, torment me, 
  As I tread the great highway of existence, 
  Alone, and yet surrounded by the clamor of life.

  Alls Well That Ends Well

  This play is a dramatization of Boccaccio’s story of Gillette of Narbonne. Only the comic parts were of Shakespeare’s invention; he added the characters of the pusillanimous Parolles, the lofty courtier Lafew, the Clown Lavatch, and the long suffering Countess. He gave new depth and vitality to the leading characters, who are mere outlines in Boccaccio’s tale. 
  The comedy has for its heroine a young woman who loves the haughty Bertram with an unrequited and despised passion, cures the King of France of a dangerous sickness, claims as her reward the right to choose a husband from among the courtiers, chooses Bertram, is repudiated by him, and, after a nocturnal meeting at which she takes the place of another woman whom he believes himself to have seduced, at last overcomes his resistance and is acknowledged as his wife. 
  In Helena, Shakespeare drew a portrait of familiar type of loving and cruelly maltreated womanhood—the woman who suffers everything in inexhaustible tenderness and humility, and never falters in her love until in the end she wins the rebellious heart.

  Salvation on Peril Island

  In the year 1983, a cargo plane crashes onto a desert island, somewhere in the Caribbean. The four survivors know their priorities well: find shelter, find food and fresh water, get rescued, and, above all, find the mysterious missing cargo. But, as time passes by, these priorities wane, as all of them seem to be having too good of a time. As they get to know each other better, they start re-examining their whole lives and the paths that led them to this island. 
  In the year 2028, a woman called Clarice Skaugen returns to her childhood home in Minneapolis for a family gathering. She is haunted and driven by nostalgia and memories of her childhood days, but she quickly puts it all aside when she realizes that her twin brother is missing, and that it seems like she is the only one in the family that notices or cares at all about his disappearance. 
  These two narratives twist around each other only to converge in an exciting finale and provide the answers sought from the start, not just "what" and "how", but, more importantly, "why".
