Confessions of Beau the Gardener – England Late 1970's
Book 2 of 6 – The Politician's Wife
Music Extended Version
The summary of the second book in the series is as follows:
In 1981, Beau’s gardening business thrives thanks to Lady Eleanor’s recommendation. He’s hired by Cynthia Fairchild, the elegant but lonely wife of a Conservative MP, to restore her neglected rose garden. As they work together, Cynthia reveals her stifled ambitions and loveless marriage, and their professional bond deepens into a passionate affair. Their secret is threatened when Richard’s ambitious young intern, Sophia, arrives—flirtatious, cunning, and suspicious of their closeness. Amidst stolen moments in the garden pavilion, Cynthia realizes their relationship endangers Beau’s future. When Sophia is caught scheming and dismissed, Cynthia resolves to reclaim her independence, ending their affair before it destroys them. She gifts Beau rare gardening books as a farewell, leaving for France with plans to rebuild her life. Beau departs, carrying lessons of love, loss, and the courage to grow beyond imposed boundaries—ready for the next garden, and the next chapter.
The initial opening credit music is “Baby, you've got it”, which does run to approximately 3 minutes plus and the “customer” is hungry for his presence. The closing music, “Same time next week, ends the story with a cheerful optimism, I am coming back don't worry absence makes the heart grow fonder and release then is so much sweeter.
The story and music itself runs to just over 1 hour and is narrated in my own voice.
I do hope you enjoy this audiobook and let me know what you think, there are a lot more to come
