Sinossi

Europe’s first professional woman of letters, Christine de Pisan was a fifteenth century French poet and author, whose prolific and diverse works include courtly poems, biographies, philosophical treatises and proto-feminist texts. Her masterpiece, ‘The Book of the City of Ladies’ combats medieval beliefs about women by creating an allegorical city. Christine arranges a wide array of famous women throughout history, which she ‘houses’ in her City, i.e. the book. Her last work, ‘The Tale of Joan of Arc’ is the only French-language account of the hero during her lifetime. It serves as a lyrical and joyous celebration of Joan’s exploits, helping to elevate the status of women in the late Middle Ages. Delphi’s Medieval Library provides eReaders with rare and precious works of the Middle Ages, with noted English translations and the original texts. This eBook presents Christine’s collected works, with illustrations, informative introductions and the usual Delphi bonus material. (Version 1)

Loss-iLahleko (A National Choreopoem): The Audio Experience invites you on a heartfelt journey of loss and return. This audio adaptation brings the choreopoem from the full-length book Loss-iLahleko (A National Choreopoem) to life, offering a deeply moving literary and sonic experience.
The full-length book is a richly layered work with four parts: a multilingual choreopoem exploring loss through songs and poems by South African female authors in Indigenous languages and English; short South African stories reflecting the lived experiences of countless women and children, including Finding Katlego and Palesa's Lockdown Escape by Elaine Pillay, Elo Phupho by Bulelwa Sigcau, and Fizza by Qhali; motivational reminders offering hope; and key information on Gender-Based Violence (GBV). Each piece sensitively weaves forms of GBV into a tapestry of voices that speak to resilience, suffering, and healing.
This audiobook immerses listeners in the vivid worlds of the choreopoem, seamlessly moving between English and South Africa’s Indigenous languages. It reflects the resilience, trauma, and strength of women and children while echoing the languages of their mothers, bearing witness to the persistent uncertainty and lack of security in the land they call home.
Loss-iLahleko is SA’s first multilingualised book series on GBV, written and translated into 11 books by extraordinary South African female writers in all the country’s official languages. To explore the full book, visit the publisher’s website.
Trigger Warning: This experience includes themes of GBV which may be distressing for some listeners. Please listen with care.

'I wanted to put you bang in the picture. Apprise you of the difficulties. Because, in case you hadn't noticed, he's a human fucking boobytrap. And now, guess what, surprise surprise, boom!'
A world-famous children's author under threat. A battle of wills in the wake of scandal. And a chance to make amends…
It's the summer of 1983, The Witches is about to hit the shelves and Roald Dahl is making last-minute edits. But the outcry at his recent, explicitly antisemitic article won't die down. Across a single afternoon at his family home, and rocked by an unexpectedly explosive confrontation, Dahl is forced to choose: make a public apology or risk his name and reputation.
Inspired by real events, Mark Rosenblatt's debut play Giant offers a nuanced portrait of a fiendishly charismatic icon – and explores with dark humour the difference between considered opinion and dangerous rhetoric.
The play was first performed to great acclaim at the Royal Court Theatre, London, in 2024, directed by Nicholas Hytner with a cast including John Lithgow as Dahl. It transferred to the West End the following year, and won the Olivier and Critics' Circle Awards for Best New Play. Mark Rosenblatt won Best Creative West End Debut at the Stage Debut Awards in 2025.

Contacted by a literary agent that lived more than a hundred light-years from him, he agrees to write a poem book that describes the society in which he lives, for substantial compensation. Our main character describes his experiences with his shifted perceptions of what sometimes seems an almost surreal world, where people live out-of-time feelings, foresee the future in short glimpses, and blend reality with the digital world. Most of all, enjoy a world that praises fashion, art, and colors.Enjoy another original concept poetry book from the Timeless Adventures series.
