In Looe town where waters flow, Where East meets West as tides ebb and go, Lived Captain Jago, brave and true, With children dear, sweet Tegen and Lou.
One golden morning, bright and fair, They sailed to check their lobster snare, The Jolly Lobster cut the foam, Far from their Cornish coastal home.
The first few pots held usual fare, Brown lobsters caught with skillful care, But when they hauled the seventh pot, Something magical they got.
The water glowed with golden light, A wondrous and amazing sight, Inside the pot, beyond compare, A lobster with shell golden-fair.
Her eyes were amber, wise and bright, Her claws caught morning's gentle light, And then she spoke in voice so sweet, "I'm Lulu, pleased you all to meet."
The children gasped in pure delight, At this most magical sight, A talking lobster, golden-true, Like nothing they had ever knew.
"I've watched your family," Lulu said, "Since your great-grandfather's days," she led, "I've kept you safe upon the sea, A guardian spirit, wild and free."
Captain Jago faced a choice, Between his heart and practical voice, This golden lobster, rare and fine, Could make his family's fortune shine.
But Tegen spoke with gentle grace, "Papa, look at Lulu's face, She's not just treasure to be sold, But friend worth more than gold."
Young Lowen added with a grin, "Let kindness and love win, Great-Grandfather would set her free, Back to her home beneath the sea."
The children's wisdom touched his heart, And set his conscience apart, Captain Jago made his choice, Love would be his guiding voice.
With gentle hands he held her high, Beneath the Cornish morning sky, "Dear Lulu, you must be free, To swim back to your deep blue sea."
Lulu promised as she went, Her gratitude would never be spent, She'd guide their nets and keep them blessed, For choosing love above the rest.
Into the sparkling blue ocean waves she gracefully slipped away, But her wonderful magic lives on today, In hearts that choose what's good and right.

WANTED: One Sane Man by Frank M. Robinson - Personnel Incorporated bragged that they could supply a man for any job. Maxwell doubted this, needing a space pilot for the first Lunar trip. Now, if he had just asked for a lunatic...
The small man adjusted his bi-focals and stared critically at the huge brass nameplate over the glass entrance doors. The plate read "Personnel Incorporated" in neat, modest lettering. Directly above the plate was a traveling neon sign which informed the public in letters six feet tall that:
PERSONNEL CAN SUPPLY THE MAN FOR ANY JOB!—SEVENTY-FIVE PER CENT OF THE PERSONNEL PROBLEMS ON THE AMERICAN CONTINENT ARE HANDLED BY PERSONNEL—DOES YOUR JOB SEEM BORING LATELY? SEE PERSONNEL AND BE PSYCHOLOGICALLY FITTED FOR YOUR WORK!—PERSONNEL CAN SUPPLY THE MAN FOR ANY JOB!—SEVENTY-FIVE PER CENT OF THE....
The small man looked at it for a minute and turned to his tall companion.
"Tell me, Maxwell, why the seventy-five? Why not eighty or eighty-three?"
Maxwell glanced up at the sign. "If they do seventy-six per cent or more of the business, they're a monopoly. It must pain Whiteford to have to hold himself down to only seventy-five."
    "Whiteford?"
Maxwell looked surprised. "You haven't heard of him? The newest boy wonder in the business world? He's the genius who runs this modern slave market." He looked at his watch. "And, incidentally, he's also the guy we've got an appointment with in five minutes."

Fíasól is a seven-year-old crab living in Green Grove in Grasby. Well, she is not actually a crab. She is a girl born in the Cancer star sign, and in her opinion that stinks. So she’s decided to adopt a brand new star sign for herself, it’s called the Flowery Butterfly and is a sign made specially for people who don’t want to be Cancerians.
She lives in Green Grove with her mum and dad, her big sisters Pippa and Bidda, and a couple of poodles, Hansína and Jensína.
Fíasól’s best friend is called Ingo. He is nine years old and lives in the house diagonally opposite hers. Harold, Herbert and Heba live in the house directly opposite. They are also specially good friends of Fíasól’s.
“I’ll never have to leave Green Grove,” Fíasól sometimes says. “I’ve got all my friends here, my stuff, my bed, and the food of course.”
“You’ll need to go to school,” her ten-year-old sister Pippa retorts.
“Yeah, but then I’ll come straight back home because everything I need is here,” Fíasól replies.
“What if you need to see the doctor?” Pippa asks.
“Then I’ll just make a call and get the doctor to come and see me here,” Fíasól says.
“But what if…” Pippa continues, and so it goes on, the sisters bickering day in and day out.
“Oh, I have such an amazingly big imagination,” Fíasól sometime says, sounding pleased with herself. She is right of course.
“You are queen of your very own enormous imagination,” Fíasól’s mum says to her. “But you’ll have to be careful not to let your ideas fly so high that you lose track of them and they come to a sticky end.”
If you live in a big world of imagination you’re either doing just fine, or you’re in trouble. The thing is, it’s often so difficult to recognise whether an idea is good or bad. Good ideas can get you into trouble and bad ideas can look as if they’re rather good, to start with.
