Following the death of a friend, the poet and pets' mortician Dennis Barlow finds himself entering the artificial Hollywood paradise of the Whispering Glades Memorial Park. Within its golden gates, death, American-style, is wrapped up and sold like a package holiday-and Dennis gets drawn into a bizarre love triangle with Aimée Thanatogenos, a naïve Californian corpse beautician, and Mr. Joyboy, a master of the embalmer's art. Waugh's dark and savage satire on the Anglo-American cultural divide depicts a world where reputation, love, and death cost a very great deal.

To The Lighthouse is Virginia Woolf’s most accomplished novel, and her most autobiographical. It tells of one summer spent by the Ramsay family and their friends in their holiday home in Scotland. Offshore stands the lighthouse, remote, inaccessible, an eternal presence in a changing world. A projected visit to the lighthouse forms the heart of this extraordinary novel which, through the minds of the various characters, explores the nature of time, memory, transience and eternity. The style has the clarity of a diamond which shimmers in the mind, making To The Lighthouse one of the most unforgettable novels of the twentieth century.

Witty, informative, and devilishly shrewd, this work is a must-listen for anyone interested in politics and power. The world-renowned philosopher’s classic treatise reveals the techniques and strategies for gaining and keeping political control. “How we live is so far removed from how we ought to live, that he who abandons what is done for what ought to be done, will rather bring about his own ruin than his preservation. Therefore, it is necessary to learn how not to be good,” wrote Machiavelli.

The mere mention of the word "psychology" in connection with business was once greeted with a shrug of the shoulders, a raising of the eyebrows and a change of the subject. The average business man was apt to impatiently resent the introduction into business of topics or speculation regarding the soul, or of theories and tales regarding concepts of psychology. Change has come to the man in business. He understands that psychology means "the science of the mind," psychology plays a most important part in business, and that it is quite worth his while to acquaint himself with its fundamental principles. The best authorities on salesmanship and advertising now recognize this fact and emphasize it in their writings. In The Psychology of Salesmanship Atkinson discusses Psychology in Business, The Mind of the Salesman, The Mind of the Buyer and more bringing greater understanding to the reader of the Psychology of Purchase

The Case-Book of Sherlock Holmes is the final set of twelve (out of a total of fifty-six) Sherlock Holmes short stories by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle first published in the Strand Magazine between October 1921 and April 1927.The first British edition and the first American edition of the collection were both published in June 1927. However, they had slightly different titles. The title of the British collection was The Case-Book of Sherlock Holmes (hyphenated "Case-Book"), whereas the title of the American edition was The Case Book of Sherlock Holmes ("Case Book" as two words). Further confusing the issue of the title, some later publishers released the collection under the title The Casebook of Sherlock Holmes ("Casebook" as a single word).
