He takes you through this journey from a young age, living in a small town in Denmark, being stuck with no way out, and to his start on a new chapter, moving to the UK with only the clothes on his back, making it through as a chef and gardener, meeting some incredible and many times unsavory characters on the way, turning his life around only to get kicked down again and again, fighting back. Until he met his wife-to-be, emigrated to Australia, and then the battles to come. Starting all over again, with no friends or family around, the darkest clouds, they are only coming closer to the real struggles they had just begun, alone in the land down under.

  Writing my autobiography has been a lifelong dream of mine upon realizing what my dream actually was at the age of 28 years old. I have endured a legacy of childhood trauma, love, endurance, survival, and happy endings. My story is no more special than the next, I just finally found my voice. I always knew I needed to share my journey in hopes of reaching someone, if not many, and inviting them onto the path of recovery, healing, love, and a promise of real hope. I have faced many demons and survived as well as been embraced by much acceptance and forgiveness. This Universe, God and our paths are what we make of it; we must not lose sight of our dreams.   My Secret Life is an anonymously penned memoir written during a period from the 1840s to the 1880s by a wealthy and sex obsessed English gentleman who refers to himself simply as ‘Walter’. Part confessional, part investigative erotic journalism, it meticulously documents every detail of the author’s prolific sexual encounters, offering us in the process an eye and thigh opening account of life behind closed doors in the Victorian age.
  
  Women, in both mind and body, were the all consuming object of Walter’s interest. From early youth through to old age his quest for erotic discovery and adventure with them was never diminished.
  
  Unlike contemporary 19th century erotic texts, such as The Pearl, whose sole object was to titillate, Walter’s interest in his subjects did not end with the extinguishing of the carnal flame. His hunger to understand the circumstances and minds of the women he encountered is never upstaged by the sex. Their potted life histories, their most intimate desires and acts were shared with him and in turn meticulously recorded by him, written down verbatim while still fresh in his mind.
  
  The resulting poignant record of a lost era and the intimate moments of the women who inhabited it offer us a remarkable insight into the 19th century that cannot be gleaned from any other source.

  Fifty years after the end of the Vietnam War, literary voices of the Vietnamese-American diaspora as well as Vietnam-based authors speak to the experience of those who left and those who stayed in THE COLORS OF APRIL, a collection of new short fiction curated by award-winning translators and editors Quan Manh Ha and Cab Tran.  For much of the twentieth century, Vietnam played an outsized role on the global stage, charting the destinies of superpowers and reshaping the world’s politics. Now fifty years after the end of the Vietnam War comes an anthology of fiction that finally speaks to the global Vietnamese experience: voices of both those who left and those who stayed, what was gained and lost in the half century since, and—for the generations that followed—what it means to be Vietnamese.  More than two dozen distinct literary voices are featured in this collection, including Viet Thanh Nguyen (Pulitzer Prize winner, The Sympathizer), Andrew Lam (PEN/Beyond Margins Award winner, Perfume Dreams), Barbara Tran (Lannan Foundation Award winner, In the Mynah Bird's Own Words), Vu Tran (Whiting Award winner, Dragonfish) and many more.
