Sinopsis

Some borders are meant to be crossed. Others are meant to be respected. In one village, a young man must decide which is which.

When the border near their isolated village suddenly opens, Unal's world expands beyond the raspberry fields and traditional ways he's always known. His heart belongs to Paknur, a brilliant young woman whose dreams of teaching English match his own educational aspirations. But tradition and modernity collide when the wealthy Abisalam returns to the village, building an imposing villa and claiming Paknur through an arranged marriage. As mysterious vehicles and suspicious activities infiltrate their once-peaceful community, the village's very foundation begins to crack. The school director watches helplessly as his influence wanes, while Unal's family struggles to maintain their simple way of life amid accusations of illegal activities. When Paknur vanishes across the border with her new husband, Unal must confront the ultimate question: In a world where everything is changing, what traditions are worth preserving, and which must be left behind?

Red Raspberry is a masterful work of literary fiction that bridges cultural divides and generational gaps. Readers who appreciate nuanced character studies, cultural authenticity, and deeply moving narratives will find themselves enchanted by this powerful exploration of love and tradition.

ake Essenger had spent decades running Essenger Produce Co., a family-owned business that had been a cornerstone of the South Florida produce market for generations. The business was more than just a job for Jake—it was his legacy, his livelihood, and a vital connection to the community. The produce market had its own rhythm, dictated by the unpredictable cycles of supply and demand, weather patterns, and the volatile nature of fresh food logistics. The expectations and responsibilities he took on as he matured prepared him for the adult journey he would follow. Each time, he found a way to adapt and move forward. He had weathered storms—both literal and figurative—and emerged stronger each time. But Hurricane Andrew was different.

Office Call by Charles E. Fritch - When brilliant mathematician Charles T. Moore steps into Dr. Rawlings’ office, he carries a groundbreaking revelation that could redefine the very fabric of reality. But as he grapples with the terrifying implications of his discovery—mind control and the potential to traverse alternate universes—will he find the help he needs or push the boundaries of sanity even further?
Dr. Rawlings sighed a long sigh born of frustration and impatience and went wearily to the bookcase. Almost methodically he removed a large gold-titled volume of Freud's A General Introduction to Psychoanalysis and withdrew the bottle from its hiding place. The bottle was half filled with an amber fluid which jiggled pleasantly as he held it in an unsteady hand, observing with a practiced eye how gaily it sparkled in the late afternoon sunlight. Then from the cavity he also extracted a small whiskey glass.
He took these tools to his desk, poured himself a stiff one, downed it, flopped into his swivel chair and closed his eyes. Chicken farms, he thought. He felt the fiery liquid seep through him, warming his insides with its silent flame, bringing a pleasant glow of satisfaction to his mind.
He closed his eyes tighter and regarded the darkened world with a calmness that was somehow conducive to rational thought even in this irrational world. To thought and to sleep, he realized suddenly, as he found his head tilting.
He rose quickly, blinking off the effects of the liquor, and carefully returned the utensils to their proper niche behind the volume of Freud on the bookshelf. Good old Freud, he thought, always knew he'd come in handy one of these days.
