Sinossi

Fifteen years ago, the innocence of the small town of Pleasure, Wisconsin was stolen by a young boy. Now, he is back, leaving a trail of bloody carnage in his wake. The media has dubbed him Strawberries, and the country is mesmerized.

Detective Harry Bland is a broken man, and can’t find a single clue to catch him. It doesn’t help that his mind won’t focus; his heart just isn’t in it anymore.

Halfway across the country, Sylvia is in a different state of mind. When she isn’t selling sex to the rich, she is doing her best to disappear. Sylvia lives a life of assumed names, one night stands and a constant stream of narcotics.

A reporter, two cross-country truckers, an eccentric friend and a rubber-clad CSI all have their part to play, as their paths come together in a small town you've never heard of.

Strawberries has killed again.

This book contains graphic violence and is not suitable for readers under the age of 18.

Susan Keating Glaspell was born on July 1st, 1876 in Davenport, Iowa.

Glaspell, a precocious child, was an active student at Davenport High School. By 18 she was earning a salary at the local newspaper as a journalist, and by 20 she was the author of a weekly 'Society' column.

At 21 she enrolled for Philosophy at Drake University, in Des Moines, where she excelled in debate competitions, and represented them at the state tournament.

After graduation, Glaspell again worked as a reporter, still a rare position for a woman, and assigned to cover the state legislature and murder cases.

At 24, after covering the conviction of a woman accused of murdering her abusive husband, Glaspell abruptly resigned and returned to Davenport, and a career writing fiction. Her stories were published by periodicals, including Harper's and Munsey's.

In 1909, moving to Chicago she wrote her debut novel, ‘The Glory of the Conquered’. It was a best-seller. So too her 2nd and 3rd and to glowing reviews.

With her husband Glaspell founded the Provincetown Playhouse for plays that reflected contemporary issues. Her first play, ‘Trifles’ (1916), was based on the murder trial she covered as a young reporter and later adapted as the short story ‘A Jury of Her Peers’. She wrote 12 plays over 7 years for the company. By 1918 Glaspell was considered one of America's most significant new playwrights. Despite its success theatre work did not make financial sense and she continued to submit short stories in order to support her and her husband during their years with the theater.

In 1931 her play, ‘Alison's House’, received the Pulitzer Prize. She continued to write and now with themes increasingly based on her surroundings, on family life, and on theistic questions.

Susan Keating Glaspell died of viral pneumonia in Provincetown, Massachusetts on 28th July 1948.

A magical inn bursting with paranormal delight. A picture-perfect seaside town filled with humans who don't know about their witchy neighbors. This cozy fantasy series has mystery, magic, and a splash of romance!

Up until a week ago, my only knowledge of magic came from the movies. Unfortunately, it didn't stay that way.

A bout of insomnia leads to witnessing a scene that belongs in a vampire flick—only, the fangs looked way more realistic. One second, I was running for my life, and the next, I found myself choking on a hairball in the back of an SUV.

That's right . . . a hairball. See, my body's been hiding a pretty big secret, and I'm some kind of witch. One that turns into a cat when under duress. Apparently, my choices are fight, flight, or . . . fur.

Overnight, I find myself thrust into a world of magic and mayhem beyond my most wild sleep-deprived delirium. Until the murderous vampire is captured, I'm placed into some kind of witch-ness protection program, and sent to live in a house full of actual monsters.

What's the worst that could happen?

Hey, at least running for my life will help me squeeze in my cardio.
