Parikramā means pilgrimage. This book is a compilation of all the places of Pilgrimage in Europe, Prayag, Ayodhya, Varanasi, Navadvipa, Jagannatha Puri and Vrindavana that I have personally visited. In these specific places are unique and wonderful deity forms of Kṛṣṇa called arca-vigraha. It is to contemplate, remember and deepen the connection to Kṛṣṇa, the Supreme Lord, whom I worship in the form His arca-vigraha, or bonafide Deity form.
The beautiful Śrīmad Bhāgavatam (11.27.44-45) describe the festival of Deity Worship:
“Singing along with others, chanting loudly and dancing, acting out My transcendental pastimes, and hearing and telling stories about Me, the devotee should for some time absorb himself in such festivity. The devotee should offer homage to the Lord with all kinds of hymns and prayers, both from the Purāṇas and from other ancient scriptures, and also from ordinary traditions. Praying, “O Lord, please be merciful to me!” he should fall down flat like a rod to offer his obeisances.”
Deity Worship, or Arcana, is a festival for the senses, because one can see the Supreme Lord, touch His Lotus Feet, dress Him, feed Him and offer everything to Him. Especially recommended for the neophyte, Deity Worship goes hand-in-hand with the other eight limbs of devotional service, namely hearing, chanting, remembering, serving His lotus feet, offering prayers, being a servant, making friends and surrendering everything for the pleasure of the Lord.
Writing about Kṛṣṇa is also sravanam, kirtanam, Kṛṣṇa Smaranam, and it helps to grasp the unlimited beauty of the Lord. In 2023/24 I already compiled a book about ARCANA, Deity Worship, while being trained as a Vedic priest. This freely available book is meant for the pleasure of my Guru, Śrīla Prabhupāda and everyone who can't make the journey to Śrīdhāma Māyāpur to learn the science of Bhakti-Yoga.

    Ring the Hill

A hill is not a mountain. You climb it for you, then you put it quietly inside you, in a cupboard marked 'Quite A Lot Of Hills' where it makes its infinitesimal mark on who you are. Ring the Hill is a book written around, and about, hills: it includes a northern hill, a hill that never ends and the smallest hill in England. Each chapter takes a type of hill - whether it's a knoll, cap, cliff, tor or even a mere bump - as a starting point for one of Tom's characteristically unpredictable and wide-ranging explorations. Tom's lyrical, candid prose roams from an intimate relationship with a particular cove on the south coast, to meditations on his great-grandmother and a lesson on what goes into the mapping of hills themselves. Because a good walk in the hills is never just about the hills: you never know where it might lead.

    Egyptian Mythology and Religion...

Egyptian mythology is a vast and intricate belief system that shaped the religious and cultural identity of ancient Egypt for thousands of years. Rooted in a deep connection with nature, the cosmos, and the divine, these myths provided explanations for the creation of the world, the role of gods, and the afterlife. Unlike other mythologies, Egyptian beliefs were not static; they evolved over time, adapting to political changes and regional influences while maintaining core spiritual principles.
The origins of Egyptian mythology can be traced back to the early dynastic period, though many of its concepts likely predate written history. Ancient Egyptians believed that the universe emerged from a primordial chaos, giving rise to powerful deities who shaped the world. Myths were recorded on temple walls, tombs, and papyrus scrolls, serving both religious and educational purposes. These stories were not merely symbolic; they were deeply woven into daily life, influencing laws, traditions, and the duties of rulers.
The geography of Egypt played a crucial role in shaping its mythology. The Nile River, essential for agriculture and survival, became a central symbol of life and renewal, often associated with gods like Osiris and Hapi. The vast deserts surrounding Egypt were seen as chaotic and dangerous, embodying forces of disorder such as the god Set. The sun’s daily journey across the sky was one of the most significant celestial events, leading to the worship of Ra, the sun god, as a dominant figure in Egyptian religious thought.

Aokigahara, also known as the sea of trees, is a forest on the flanks of Mount Fuji on the island of Honshu in Japan, spread over 30 square kilometres of rock hard lava which was laid down during the last major eruption of Mount Fuji in 864. The western edge of Aokigahara, where there are various caves that fill with ice in winter, is a popular destination for tourists. Parts of Aokigahara are very dense, and the porous lava rock absorbs sound, all adding to a sense of solitude that some visitors decide to be the perfect place to implement their final act.
