Sinossi

When Frank Merriwell, in a great hurry, flung open the door of his room and sprang in, he was little prepared for the reception that followed.
From all sides they leaped upon him, clutched him, surrounded him, hemmed him in. There were exactly thirteen of them, and he was alone and unarmed.
Never before had Merriwell quailed in the face of odds, but now he took one look at them and then flung up his hands, crying:
“I surrender!”
They clutched those uplifted hands and dragged them down. They grasped him about the body, around the neck, anywhere, everywhere. Howls of joy arose.
“We’ve got you!” they yelled.
Then they wrenched at his hands, one after another, as if trying to tear his arms from their sockets. Then they thumped him on the back, the shoulders, and the chest.
On the outskirts of the attacking mob one wild-eyed fellow fought like a demon to get at Merry.

Raggedy Ann is the beloved doll with red yarn hair and a triangle nose. She came to life in 1915 when author and illustrator Johnny Gruelle found a rag doll in his mother’s attic. He drew a new face on the old doll and created stories about her to entertain his daughter, Marcella, during the final months of her illness.Although Raggedy Ann looks like an ordinary doll, Raggedy Ann Stories chronicles her extraordinary adventures. In one instance, she bravely rescues the family dog, Fido, from the dogcatcher. On another occasion, she falls into a bucket of paint and finds herself in need of new stuffing, then is stitched back together with her famous “I Love You” heart. From flying high off the ground inside of a kite, to mentoring the other dolls in the nursery, the adventures are endless.Raggedy Ann celebrated her 100th birthday in 2015, and has proven herself to be an iconic companion across generations. She continues to find a place in children’s hearts.

Written for readers age 10 and up -- enjoyed by adults!"Frank felt his heart beat fast. At that moment he was certain God was calling him, asking him to give up his ties to his homeland and set out across the Atlantic Ocean. He did not hesitate to stand when John Wesley asked preachers to walk forward if they felt God was calling them to the American colonies."One of the first Methodist bishops in America, English-born Francis Asbury devoted his life to ministry, traveling on horseback to preach and teach to those living on the vastly isolated American frontier. Alone in a new country, with no home of his own, Asbury rode over 300,000 miles -- across rivers and through rocky, overgrown roads -- shining God’s light on the fledgling colonies. When many Methodist clergy left America during the Revolutionary War, Asbury stayed. His tireless leadership saw the movement grow from 5,000 members in 1776 to 214,000 at the time of his death, fulfilling the great destiny of his call and inspiring future generations.
