Sinossi

Monsoon Flood Delays delves into the escalating disruptions caused by intensified monsoon seasons on global transportation networks. The book examines the intersection of climate science, geography, and environmental studies to understand how erratic rainfall patterns are challenging economic stability and human mobility. Interestingly, while monsoon seasons have historically supported agriculture, climate change is making them more intense and unpredictable, leading to unprecedented flooding. This book uniquely combines climate predictions with infrastructure analysis and socio-economic impact assessments.

The book argues for a comprehensive, interdisciplinary approach to infrastructure planning and disaster management, essential for mitigating increasing disruptions. It begins by assessing the global problem, then examines climate science factors like atmospheric circulation. Case studies from South Asia, Southeast Asia, and Africa highlight flooding impacts on roads, railways, and airports. Finally, the book analyzes socio-economic consequences on trade and emergency response. The study uses high-resolution precipitation data and detailed maps of infrastructure and flood risk zones, providing insights for policymakers and transportation engineers.

    Healing Politics - A Doctor’s...

A child of immigrants, Abdul El-Sayed grew up feeling a responsibility to help others. He threw himself into the study of medicine and excelled—winning a Rhodes Scholarship, earning two advanced degrees, and landing a tenure-track position at Columbia University. At age thirty, he became the youngest city health official in America, tasked with rebuilding Detroit’s health department after years of austerity policies.
But El-Sayed found himself disillusioned. He could heal the sick—even build healthier and safer communities—but that wouldn’t address the social and economic conditions causing illness in the first place. So he left health for politics, running for governor of Michigan and earning the support of progressive champions like Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Senator Bernie Sanders.
In Healing Politics, El-Sayed traces the life of a young idealist, weaving together powerful personal stories and fascinating forays into history and science. Marrying his unique perspective with the science of epidemiology, El-Sayed diagnoses an underlying epidemic afflicting our country, an epidemic of insecurity. And to heal the rifts this epidemic has created, he lays out a new direction for the progressive movement. This is a bold, personal, and compellingly original book from a prominent young leader.

The Meaning of Surah 99 Az-Zalzalah (The Earthquake) From Holy Quran Bilingual Edition In English and Spanish Languange Standar Version.
Surah Al-Zalzalah (The Earthuake") is the 99th chapter (surah) of The Holy Qur'an, composed of 8 verses (ayat). Though it is usually classified as a Medinan surah, the period under which the surah was revealed is not unanimously agreed upon by Qur'anic exegetes.
The surah begins by describing how on the Day of Judgment, the Earth will give off a terrible earthquake and "throw up her burdens". Through the inspiration of God, the Earth will bear witness to the actions of men it has witnessed. According to Michael Sells, the earth opening up and bearing forth her secrets in this surah is indicative of a birth metaphor.
The earth al-'Ard in the feminine gender bears forth of how her lord revealed the final secret to her. Human beings will then realize that the moment of accountability has arrived. This meticulous accountability will reflect good and evil deeds that might have seemed insignificant at the time.
The two concluding verses state that all men will be sorted out into groups according to their deeds, and they will see the consequence of everything they have done; every atom's weight of good or evil:
That day mankind will issue forth in scattered groups to be shown their deeds.
And whoso doeth good an atom's weight will see it then,
And whoso doeth ill an atom's weight will see it then.
    — The Holy Qur'an, verses 99:6-8

In the 1920s, Justin Christofleau revolutionized agriculture with his innovative system of electroculture. This groundbreaking technique not only significantly increased crop yields (up to 200%) without relying on any chemical fertilizers, but it also effectively prevented diseases, rejuvenated plants, improved seed germination, accelerated crop growth, and demonstrated exceptional suitability for drought-stricken regions.
In his comprehensive book, Justin Christofleau meticulously explained the inner workings of his electroculture system, accompanied by detailed schematics and illustrative pictures. His step-by-step guide made it accessible to farmers, gardeners, agronomists, students, and anyone passionate about food, health, and the environment.
Today, nearly a century later, we are thrilled to reintroduce this valuable information to the world. Our mission is to disseminate this knowledge far and wide, empowering individuals and communities to implement eco-friendly and sustainable agricultural practices. By embracing Justin Christofleau's electroculture system, we can usher in a new era of farming that not only enhances crop productivity but also contributes to a healthier planet for future generations. Let us join hands in preserving this time-honored wisdom and making our world a greener, more abundant place.

Animal testing has long been a cornerstone of scientific research, serving as a method to understand biological processes, test the safety and efficacy of products, and develop medical treatments. It involves the use of live animals in experiments and observational studies to explore the effects of drugs, chemicals, and other substances on biological systems. This practice, while often viewed as essential, is fraught with controversy, ethical dilemmas, and scientific scrutiny.
The origins of animal testing can be traced back to ancient Greece, where philosophers like Aristotle and Erasistratus conducted rudimentary experiments on animals to study anatomy and physiology. Over centuries, as medicine and technology advanced, the scope and complexity of animal testing expanded. By the 19th and 20th centuries, animal experimentation had become an institutionalized component of biomedical research, contributing to groundbreaking discoveries such as vaccines, antibiotics, and surgical techniques.
Today, animal testing is pervasive across multiple industries, including pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and chemicals. It is primarily used to evaluate the safety of products, ensure regulatory compliance, and develop new treatments for diseases. Animals such as mice, rats, rabbits, and primates are commonly employed because of their physiological similarities to humans, which researchers argue make them suitable models for studying human biology.
