Evelyn Reed wakes with a scream she cannot release. Snatched from a familiar, rain-slicked road after encountering a towering, pale-antlered figure in the dark, she awakens in an impossible, unearthly bedroom. The stone floors are unnervingly warm with hidden life, the bed is carved from seamless white bone, and the window overlooks sharp spires piercing through mist under an alien sky. But the true horror isn't just the magic of her new prison—it is the utter, unnatural silence. Her voice has been entirely stolen. Even the room itself swallows the noise of a shattered vase, absorbing echoes like deep water. Armed with nothing but her survival instincts and a sharp porcelain shard, Evelyn must face a beautiful, watchful realm where even her own reflection looks away. Step into Olivia Mina's The Fae King's Silent Prisoner, a chilling, atmospheric tale of survival in a deadly, soundless world.

The Well at the World's End is thought to be one of the first examples of an entirely fictional fantasy world, and has greatly influenced later fantasy writers such as C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien. The book follows the travels of Ralph, a prince of a tiny country, as he disobeys his fathers wishes and runs away from home to adventure in the world, and seek out the fabled Well at World's End, said to grant eternal youth to those who drink from it. In this irreverent examination of the alien abduction mythos Mike has been abducted by aliens. He awakens not knowing how he got where he is. Bob, a wisecracking “alien,” greets him. Bob looks exactly like a human being. After much questioning, Mike discovers that people from Bob’s planet have been abducting humans for thousands of years. As part of that conversation, Mike learns that the reason Bob looks so much like Earth humans is that Earth had been colonized by Bob’s people. Due to circumstances beyond their control, the colony was reduced to two directly related individuals, who proceeded to populate the planet with obvious results.
The resultant Earth species is suspicious, war like, deceitful, and self-destructive. The population on Bob’s planet is pristine and has no inherent vices or negative personality traits. Mike talks Bob into taking him back to his home planet. The question this book explores is; If a human being from Earth is dropped into a society as gentle as Bob’s, does he conform to the beauty, or realize that the opportunities for exploitation of these people are endless.
This is the first book of a trilogy. #2 is 'The Cross-eyed Bear' #3 is 'The Fat Lady Sings'.

A young mathematician wants to marry the lovely Abscissa Surd, but her father says he must first prove himself worthy. Professor Surd will only allow the protagonist to marry his daughter if he can either accomplish perpetual motion or faster-than-light travel. “The Tachypomp” is a short story for the mathematically-minded. Though first published anonymously in 1874, science-fiction scholar Sam Moskowitz rediscovered and republished it—along with Mitchell’s other forgotten work—in 1973, thus restoring him to his rightful place in contemporary sci-fi discourse.
