Sinossi

In 1982, ten-year-old Emma Jacobs disappeared while on her way home from school. Almost four decades later the case file lands on Kate Gazzara’s desk. 
A cursory review of the case quickly turns into a personal nightmare for her team member, Detective Anne Robar. 
Haunted by vague, shadowy memories, of her own abduction more than thirty-seven years ago, Anne becomes consumed by them. 
Kate and Anne are determined to bring closure to Emma’s family and to confront Anne’s own demons. But with pressure mounting from her superiors to drop the case and threats surfacing from unknown quarters, Kate, Anne, and the team must navigate a labyrinth of deceit, manipulation, and Anne’s personal trauma. 
As they get closer to the truth, they realize that by uncovering Emma Jacobs’ fate they might also unravel the mystery of Anne’s own past—a truth that someone is willing to kill to keep buried.
