Sinossi

Would you help a hot college girl in need?

Clive is a college senior with a simple goal—to take a shower. But when he runs into a smoking hot girl in his dorm bathroom, things take a turn for the crazy.

The beautiful blonde is freaking out, and the best Clive can think of is to suggest sex.

Guys have been kicked in the nuts for less. And that towel isn't offering a lot of protection. But maybe it's not a swift knee to the balls Clive should be worried about. She might look like every dorm guy's wet dream, but what is it that got her to freak out like a crazy girl—and is it wise to even get involved?

When she takes off her blouse, the question becomes irrelevant.

The Dorm Dude & the Stressed College Girl is the eleventh installment in the Bjorn Peeters Half-hour Comedy series Funny Sex Adventures. If you like fun-filled college comedies with steam on the bathroom mirror, then this one will make your day!

How hard can it be to write a fantasy trilogy? From Carnegie Medalist Mal Peet comes an outrageously funny black comedy about an impoverished literary writer who makes a pact with the devil.

Award-winning YA author Philip Murdstone is in trouble. His star has waned. The world is leaving him behind. His agent, the ruthless Minerva Cinch, convinces him that his only hope is to write a sword-and-sorcery blockbuster. Unfortunately, Philip-allergic to the faintest trace of Tolkien-is utterly unsuited to the task. In a dark hour, a dwarfish stranger comes to his rescue. But the deal he makes with Pocket Wellfair turns out to have Faustian consequences. The Murdstone Trilogy is a richly dark comedy described by one U.K. reviewer as "totally insane in the best way possible."

From the New York Times best-selling writing team comes a hilarious new collection of essays that observe life from a mother/daughter perspective.New York Times best-selling author Lisa Scottoline and her daughter, Francesca Serritella, are the best of friends - 99.9% of the time. They’re number one on each other’s speed dial and they tell each other everything — well, almost everything. They share shoes and clothes — except one very special green jacket, which almost caused a catfight. In other words, they’re just like every mother and daughter in the world. Best friends, and occasional enemies. Now they’re dishing about it all: their lives, their relationship, and their carb count. Inspired by their weekly column, “Chick Wit” for The Philadelphia Inquirer, this book is one you’ll have to put down — just to stop laughing.Lisa on Being a Mom: "Motherhood has no expiration date. Francesca lives in the city, and I worry about her all the time. My daughter moved out, so why am I still lactating?Francesca on Being a Daughter: "My mother is always right. Just ask her."Lisa on Things Every Daughter Should Know: "Your mother is always thinking about you, but that’s not creepy. Your mother will never forget who did you dirty in the sixth grade, for which you can thank her. And your mother will never stop asking you if you need to go to the bathroom, before you leave the house. Well, do you?"Francesca on Closet Wars: "My mom is a great dresser. Mostly because she’s wearing my clothes."Lisa on Aging Gracefully: "My sex drive is in reverse, I have more whiskers than my cat, and my estrogen replacement is tequila.Francesca on Apartment Living: "When I saw a mouse, the first person I called was Mom. She told me to call my super, but I felt bad bothering him. I hate to bother people. But I love to bother my mother."A Macmillan Audio production.

“Go Fish is that rarest of creatures: an essential collection of political cartoons.” —David Rees, author of Get Your War On   This volume of cartoons from the revered Mr. Fish (aka Dwayne Booth) spans politics, popular culture, economic disaster, and much more, and nobody—right, left, or middle—is safe from his razor-edged satire. Included are cartoons never previously published as well as original essays by Mr. Fish, whose work has appeared in such venues as Harper’s Magazine, Truthdig, the Los Angeles Times, TheAtlantic, and Vanity Fair.   “Fish’s work makes you want to do something—even if you’re not entirely sure what that something is—to change things for the better, and the feeling stays with you long after the book is closed.” —Verbicide Magazine   “A vibrant example of political cartooning as it is practiced at its heights. . . . Anyone who thinks political cartooning is stale need only take a closer look at this body of work. . . . Certifiably brilliant.” —Los Angeles Review of Books

    Aldous Huxley

Fascinating and brilliant at many levels, Huxley's spoof of Lady Ottoline Morrell's famous bohemian gatherings is difficult to categorize. The ironic tone and caricaturish rendering of some characters makes it partly entertaining satire, but intertwined with the irony are a very human love story and much poignant social commentary. Denis Stone (Huxley himself) is a young poet hopelessly enamored of the languid Anne Wimbush, who comes to Priscilla Wimbush's Crome estate for several weeks of intellectual and artistic escape. Along the way of his love affair, he engages in or eavesdrops upon conversations with other guests about the War, about eschatology, about future society, about Sex, about Art, about Love. Several of these dialogues directly foreshadow themes of Huxley's later dystopian masterpiece, Brave New World. Others show a tragic prescience of another great European war on its way, an awareness that future tragedy might attempt to complete the unfinished business of the recent Great War. Huxley's first novel, Crome Yellow is well worth reading in its own right, while containing embryonic forms of so much of Huxley's later intellectual themes. - Summary by Expatriate
