When Alpha Werewolf Peter finds a lost little bunny at his bar, he brings her home so he can take care of her himself. Bunny is an eighteen-year-old orphan, a young Rabbit Shifter with a rather unimaginative name. Bunny has been taught to stay away from Predator shifters like Mr. Peter her entire life, but she thinks if there’s anyone she can trust, it’s Mr. Peter. He has been nothing but compassionate to her plights, taking her in when she has nothing and giving her a job. He offers a comfortable bed to stay the night and a roof over her head. She doesn't know that he's about to take away so much more. ~~~~~ Excerpt ~~~~~ "How do you get home normally?" is what he's more curious about. "I um- I walk," she whispers. The thought of her walking alone along a long stretch of road makes the fur on the back of his neck stand. It would be so easy for someone to snatch her up and keep her there. That just won't do. "All the way home?" he prompts, turning off the rest of the lights, basking them in darkness. There's a reddish light reflected from her eyes in the dark that would be frightening if she wasn't so tiny. "Yeah. It's um- it's not far. Just a little down the street," she says. She takes off the cap that's pressing down on her ears and rubs the edges in an absent-minded manner as she follows him out of the restaurant bar. After he locks the doors, he guides her to the car with a hand on her lower back, admiring the way his fingers splay on almost her entire back. Their size difference is so vast. He imagines pinning her down on the bed and keeping her there with just a palm on her breasts. She'll kick out and whimper, but ultimately be too weak to fight him off. "Thanks so much, though, Mr. Peter," she murmurs again. "It's not a problem," he says honestly. He opens the door for her to climb in and she only hesitates for a second, trusting him entirely. It is a heady feeling, like prey walking into his trap with only the smallest lure. As he starts the car, he switches the radio to instrumental music, meaning to calm her. She gives him her address, though he knows it already. She lives in an orphanage. She admitted during her hiring interview that she had overstayed her welcome there. People who are over the age of eighteen are not supposed to keep living in an orphanage after all. She's allowed an additional year or two to get started, though. There are few apartment complexes that would take prey shifters. Prey shifters trust too easily.
