Sinopse

"Meat Technology and Processing" delves into the significance of meat as a valuable source of animal protein, whether consumed as fresh or processed products. With the growing popularity of processed meat products worldwide, our book focuses on adding value to fresh meat through small-scale meat processing plants capable of producing a variety of fresh and cooked meat products.
Meat is crucial for the diets of individuals, especially children and pregnant women, due to its high protein and iron content. It has always played a significant role in livestock programs, providing rich nutrients and supplements, particularly in areas lacking cold chain infrastructure. Meat processing enhances the value of these products, with Europe and Asia leading the way in technological advancements.
Our book covers a range of practical topics essential for meat processing, from quality characteristics to by-product utilization. We provide detailed information on the nutritional benefits of various meats, including pork, beef, chicken, turkey, goose, and rabbit. The content reflects current global techniques used to improve manufacturing methods, making it an invaluable resource for students in the field of nutrition. Exercises are included to aid learning and teaching.

A young physician finishes residency and begins practice in a small rural town.
Early in his career as an attending, a death certificate lands on his desk.
It looks ordinary—boxes, signatures, causes of death. But the name on the page is someone he knew. Someone whose story had unfolded in exam rooms and hospital hallways. With one signature, he acknowledges a life that has ended.
Medicine had trained him to diagnose and treat.
It had not prepared him for the weight of finality.
    That moment stayed.
Through emergency department nights, nursing home rounds, leadership struggles, insurance barriers, staffing shortages, and quiet home visits at the end of life, he began to write—not from theory, but from experience.
Readers responded. Patients saw what happens behind the curtain. Clinicians recognized their own unspoken burdens. Medical learners encountered lessons not found in science textbooks.
No Secrets in a Small Town grows from that first signature.
Told through the mind of a rural doctor, it reflects on trust, professionalism, stewardship, burnout, and the moral responsibility of caring for neighbors in a place where medicine is personal.
In a small town, every decision carries a name.
    And nothing is anonymous.

This audiobook is narrated by an AI Voice. What if the final moments of life reveal humanity's greatest mystery? Journey through extraordinary documented cases of deathbed visions that challenge everything we think we know about death and dying. From Steve Jobs's profound final words "Oh wow" to scientifically documented encounters with deceased loved ones, this compelling exploration examines end-of-life experiences that transcend cultural, religious, and medical boundaries. Drawing from the groundbreaking Osis-Haraldsson study of over 50,000 dying patients, discover how hospice workers, doctors, and researchers have documented remarkably consistent patterns in deathbed visions across the globe. These aren't random hallucinations or medication-induced fantasies—they're coherent, meaningful encounters that bring profound peace to the dying and challenge our understanding of consciousness itself. Witness accounts of patients who see deceased relatives they've never met, describe burial clothes they never saw, and experience transformative visions that replace fear with wonder. Medical professionals share their most compelling cases, from children who meet grandparents who died before they were born to skeptics whose final moments reveal unexpected spiritual dimensions. Through careful scientific analysis and deeply moving personal stories, explore how these near-death phenomena offer comfort to grieving families and potentially revolutionary insights into human consciousness. Whether you're facing your own mortality, supporting a loved one through their final journey, or simply curious about life's greatest mystery, these true accounts provide both scientific rigor and profound emotional healing about what may await us all.

    Nicolaus Copernicus: The Life...

Today, Nicolaus Copernicus is remembered as the scientific innovator who championed the heliocentric model with the Sun at the center of the solar system, but it’s often forgotten that the risk of openly rebutting the longstanding beliefs and teachings of medieval mathematicians and the Church compelled him to only publish his theories near the end of his life. Through years of careful observation and mathematical analysis, he had become convinced that many of the discrepancies of traditional astronomy could be solved if the Sun, rather than Earth, occupied the central position. In his model, Earth was simply another planet moving around the Sun while also rotating on its axis.
This seemingly simple change carried enormous implications, because if Earth was in motion, then humanity’s world was no longer the fixed center of the cosmos. In the same vein, the development of this theory required extraordinary intellectual courage, not only because the heliocentric model contradicted centuries of accepted authority, but because many theologians had embraced the geocentric worldview. Anyone who challenged the geocentric model would run afoul of the Church, which was still the most powerful authority in Europe, as Galileo Galilei would find out decades after Copernicus’ death.
As a result, Copernicus proceeded cautiously, refining his ideas over decades rather than rushing them into print. His reluctance reflected both scholarly perfectionism and an awareness of the controversy his work might provoke. Eventually, he completed one of the most important scientific texts ever published, De revolutionibus orbium coelestium (On the Revolutions of the Heavenly Spheres), which systematically presented his heliocentric model and offered detailed mathematical arguments in its defense. Copernicus’ work is now considered so important to the development of modern science that some historians have even described the era as the “Copernican Revolution.”
