It examines child labor, revealing how children were once integrated into the workforce, facing harsh conditions before the rise of child labor laws.

Furthermore, the book investigates the evolution of education from informal learning to formal schooling systems, impacting social mobility and overall development.

The approach taken by Child Life Then involves examining key aspects of child life across different eras using demographic data, historical accounts, and social research. The book progresses by introducing core concepts of childhood studies, then explores child labor, education, and health across history.

Thanks to his rise in the military and politics, Crassus’s renown and riches heavily influenced his contemporaries. In the wake of the Third Servile War, Crassus’ patronage helped position Caesar to be appointed governor of Hispania Ulterior. In order to maintain political office, which made him immune from prosecution for his debts, he left for modern day Spain before his praetorship expired. Caesar made this move knowing that governors were immune from prosecution, but governors also had vitally important military responsibilities via command of whatever legions were garrisoned in their territory. It would be as governor that Caesar’s military career truly took off, starting with his victories over a couple of local tribes. These military successes earned him the title Imperator, the Roman equivalent of the title of Commander.
Likewise, Caesar was heavily sponsored in his run for Consul by Crassus, and in a brilliant stroke of diplomacy, he succeeded in reconciling Crassus with Pompey, who was Rome’s most powerful general at the time. Alongside Pompey and Caesar, Crassus established the First Triumvirate, with Crassus supplying the funds, Pompey the muscle, and Caesar the political clout necessary for governing the city. Though later triumvirates officially wielded power, like the Second Triumvirate (which formed in the wake of Caesar’s assassination and included his heir Augustus and longtime general Mark Antony), this First Triumvirate acted behind the scenes to run Rome unofficially.
The triumvirate would come to an end when Crassus met a sudden and unexpected end while campaigning in the east against the Parthians. Ironically, his failed campaign is better remembered than the rest of his life because of the way his reputation brought about his manner of death: ancient writers claimed that shortly after he was killed in fighting, the Parthians poured molten gold down his throat and then used his head as a prop in a play.

Why President Trump has left us with no choice but to remove him from office, as explained by celebrated Supreme Court lawyer and former Acting Solicitor General Neal Katyal. No one is above the law. This belief is as American as freedom of speech and turkey on Thanksgiving—held sacred by Democrats and Republicans alike. But as celebrated Supreme Court lawyer and former Acting Solicitor General Neal Katyal argues in Impeach, if President Trump is not held accountable for repeatedly asking foreign powers to interfere in the 2020 presidential election, this could very well mark the end of our democracy. To quote President George Washington’s Farewell Address: “Foreign influence is one of the most baneful foes of republican government.” Impeachment should always be our last resort, explains Katyal, but our founders, our principles, and our Constitution leave us with no choice but to impeach President Trump—before it’s too late.  Read by Christopher Ryan GrantCHRISTOPHER RYAN GRANT  is an actor and voice artist based in New York City. Ancient Mythologies invites readers into the epic tales, divine dramas, and timeless wisdom of three powerful ancient traditions. This 3-in-1 collection explores the fascinating mythological worlds of Egyptian Mythology, The Greek Pantheon, and The Gods of the Nile—offering a rich tapestry of creation stories, epic battles, moral lessons, and supernatural beings that have shaped cultures for thousands of years.
In Egyptian Mythology, readers will encounter gods who ruled over life and death, the afterlife, and the forces of nature. From Ra the sun god to Osiris, Isis, and Anubis, these myths reveal how the ancient Egyptians understood the cosmos, kingship, and the journey of the soul. The Greek Pantheon then brings to life the iconic gods and heroes of Olympus—Zeus, Athena, Hades, and more—whose rivalries, romances, and feats continue to influence literature, psychology, and popular culture to this day.
Lastly, The Gods of the Nile offers a closer look at the regional deities of ancient Egypt and the spiritual significance of the Nile River itself. These myths emphasize the connection between nature and divinity, the cyclical rhythm of life, and the sacred role of water in sustaining civilization. Together, these three volumes weave a spellbinding journey through the beliefs, stories, and legacies of ancient peoples who sought to explain the mysteries of the universe through myth.
