Sinossi

To me personally, acceptance began as a necessity rather than a spiritual pursuit. Amid life's trials, I explored various avenues to alleviate emotional pain – from meditation and mindfulness to seeking solace in nature and prayer. Yet, amidst these practices, I stumbled upon something more profound: acceptance. I soon realized that only through acceptance could I truly transform my life and surroundings. Over two years, I meticulously documented my journey and insights, culminating in the creation of this book.

In crafting this book, I sought to distill my experiences into a concise yet rich narrative, detailing every step of my acceptance practice. At its core, acceptance is beautifully simple: it's about embracing the present moment with a calm heart that surrenders to what is. But simplicity does not equate to ease; it requires sustained and guided practice to yield true growth. Through my journey, I discovered that acceptance, when embraced wholeheartedly, has the power to gradually open our hearts like gentle flowers, allowing us to perceive the world in its pure, pristine quality. This profound revelation inspired me to rename this work from "The Path to Acceptance" to "The Pure Heart of Acceptance," reflecting the desire to live from a place of love, joy, and spiritual fulfillment.

I hope this book serves as a guiding light on your own path towards acceptance, empowering you to embrace its transformative power and experience its profound impact on your life. Namaste.

Discover how to live fearlessly for Christ

Like Daniel in Babylon, Christians today are exiles in a hostile culture. Every day, we face the lions--the easier road of moral compromise, the lure of earthly wealth and influence, the temptation to give in to our fears or our apathy. Yet we are called to obey God rather than man, and we need courage to do it.

Award-winning apologist Ray Comfort wants to help you develop the fortitude to look into the mouths of lions without flinching, trusting that God not only will bring you to the other side of the trial but is refining you through it. This encouraging and practical book draws on inspiring stories from Scripture to help you identify the lions you face and build a strategy for combatting them, recognizing that nothing catches God off guard and reminding you that, by His power, you have victory over the darkness.

For any believer who sometimes feels beaten down, burned-out, or ready to give in, this book offers a spiritual shot in the arm.

In *Our Daddy Who Art In Heaven*, I explore the deeply personal journey of fatherhood, drawing from my own experiences as both a father and a Christian. As I reflect on the role of an earthly father, I can't help but see the parallels with the loving care of God, our Heavenly Father. The book is built around questions children often ask their dads, like "Daddy, Are You There?" and "Daddy, Do You Care?", which I answer through a blend of personal reflection and spiritual insight. My journey into fatherhood began unexpectedly, with the adoption of my daughters after years of struggling with infertility. That experience reshaped my understanding of what it means to be a father, and through it, I began to connect more deeply with how God loves and cares for us, His children. Throughout the book, I reflect on my relationship with my own father and how it has shaped my growing understanding of God as the ultimate father figure. In each chapter, I dive into themes of love, security, guidance, and care, pulling from my own life and biblical teachings. I explore how we, as human fathers, can reflect God's love and patience, while also recognizing the pain that comes from absent or imperfect fatherhood. Most importantly, I share how God fills that gap, offering the perfect example of fatherly love. The tone is warm and reflective, and my hope is that this book will offer encouragement to fathers and to anyone seeking a deeper understanding of God as a father figure in their lives.

    She's out of your league.
It was a cliché term and one that no man ever wanted to hear. But it defined Micah’s relationship with Claire Alexander. She was so out of his league that he had given up hope from day one.
A relationship with Claire was not a possibility. She simply would never be his. He was broken and she was too good for him – out of his league in every way. Micah and Claire were friends. That’s all they had ever been and all they would ever be.
So why was she looking at him like this?

The Pythagorean Cult, founded by the ancient Greek philosopher and mathematician Pythagoras, stands as one of the most mysterious and intriguing movements in history. Emerging in the 6th century BCE, it blended religious, philosophical, and scientific ideals into a unique and complex system that shaped the intellectual landscape of ancient Greece. At the heart of the cult was the figure of Pythagoras, revered as a divine being by his followers. His teachings, rooted in the belief that numbers and mathematics governed the universe, attracted a dedicated group of adherents who sought enlightenment and understanding of the natural and spiritual world.
Pythagoras’s teachings extended far beyond the realms of geometry and mathematics. His philosophy emphasized harmony, proportion, and balance, both in the cosmos and within the individual. The Pythagoreans viewed numbers not only as abstract symbols but as the very essence of reality. Everything, from the movements of the stars to the music of the spheres, was thought to be governed by mathematical principles. This belief in the fundamental nature of numbers formed the cornerstone of the cult's worldview, setting them apart from other philosophical schools of thought at the time.
In addition to their intellectual pursuits, the Pythagoreans practiced a strict code of conduct that demanded both physical and spiritual discipline. Their lifestyle was based on a set of moral and ethical principles, which included dietary restrictions, meditation, and an unwavering commitment to silence and contemplation. This approach aimed at achieving spiritual purity, with the ultimate goal of transcending the limitations of the physical body and achieving union with the divine. Pythagoras himself was seen as both a teacher and a spiritual guide, and his followers believed he possessed an almost supernatural understanding of the world.

From the bestselling author of Holy Hot Mess, a laugh-out-loud look at what happens when life goes a direction we didn't expect and we are forced to reconsider the beliefs, assumptions, and stories that have always steered our course.  Mary Katherine Backstrom grew up the most basic of all youth group kids—pH level 14—and her faith only grew as she led youth ministry, served as a missionary, and went on to become a bestselling Christian author. She knew all the practiced, perfect Sunday school answers and was driving happily down the straight and narrow, until one day her young son asked a simple question: will my Jewish best friend go to hell? In the months and years that followed, that single question continued to snowball. MK challenged and reconsidered every part of the faith she’d been raised to accept so completely. Not That Wheel, Jesus! is Mary Katherine’s hilarious journey from certainty to doubt to going nuclear on the socials (“it was my heresy era”), and then of slowly and painfully finding her way back to a different, less defined faith. It’s the heartfelt and achingly honest story of a spirituality that went off the road and crashed and burned in spectacular fashion, right before God and everybody. And then, slowly, through grace and plenty of therapy, grew richer and deeper than she ever could have imagined.
