Every step will bring new discoveries—are you ready to begin?

Max’s Journey is filled with themes that will resonate with you:

Friendship and Loyalty: The bond between Max and Sky shows that true strength comes from mutual support. Together, they form an unbreakable team, proving that friendship helps us overcome any challenge.

Courage and Self-Discovery: True courage isn’t just about fighting monsters. It’s about facing the unknown within yourself. Every step is a journey toward understanding who you truly are.

Magic and Transformation: Magic is everywhere in this story. When Lumina enters, the adventure deepens. With Molly’s belief in the impossible, magic becomes even stronger, unlocking new dimensions of transformation.

Max’s journey begins with a mysterious egg that hatches in a magical place, bringing the young dinosaur to life. With Sky by his side, they explore a world filled with wonder and danger. The real challenges they face are not only physical—they are deeply internal. The egg marks the start of a journey that will change them all.

The Enchanted Forest and Lumina

In the enchanted forest, Max and Sky meet Lumina, the fiery dragonfly who becomes their guide. She reveals that to continue, they need the pure heart of a child. That’s when Molly enters, bringing magic and belief in the impossible. With her help, the challenges ahead seem more manageable.

The Magic Mirror

One crucial moment in Max’s Journey is the magic mirror. This mirror doesn’t just show appearances—it reflects their deepest fears. Max, Sky, Lumina, and Molly confront their insecurities and learn that accepting themselves is the key to growth. With Molly’s courage, they find strength to face their fears.

The Mountain of Shadows

Max and his friends face the Mountain of Shadows, a place that tests their physical strength and emotional resilience. Max learns that true courage isn’t about fighting monsters—it’s about confronting the shadows within. With Molly’s belief in him, Max finds the strength to overcome his doubts.

The Power of Magic and Friendship

Every chapter teaches that magic is created together. Lumina helps guide the group through challenges, while Sky’s loyalty keeps them grounded. Max, with his adventurous spirit, is always ready to grow. But it’s Molly’s pure heart that makes the magic come alive, showing them all that belief in the impossible can unlock the greatest transformations.

A Journey of Transformation

At its core, Max’s Journey is about transformation, friendship, and adventure. The true magic isn’t found in discoveries themselves, but in how those discoveries change us. Each step brings you closer to understanding that adventure is about growing together, facing fears, and believing in the power of friendship and magic.

The adventure awaits—are you ready to answer the call?

This book was composed during the journey from Jagannatha Puri to Vrindavana. I was anxious to get to the Holy Dhama of Vrindavana due to the presence of my spiritual master's samadhi. Our spiritual family comes together every year to celebrate his transcendental disappearance. Fear always intrigued me in general, thinking myself a breaker of rules and advocate of an easier and more direct way of living, I considered fear my friend. In society I observed different anxieties from social anxiety, to financial stress, physical conditioning or leadership pressure. All these fears originated in the forgetfulness of the living entity about the intrinsic presence of God everywhere and within everyone. People in general have forgotten the divine life of service and humility ending up in a selfish circle of bodily misery and construed philosophy. Anxious to live happily and fed until one faces death, the common man is fearful at every step and thus tries very hard by dint of scientific research to prolong life and prevent death. Inevitably, science has failed and death scares the people in general, because they lost understanding of the eternal soul. Such ignorance is pitiable and we must educate the general class of people that the living entity is eternal and eternally connected to Supreme Lord. Thus, this book is comprised to teach the people and remind them again for spiritual development. The first teaching of spiritual life is: You are not the body, but a conscious soul living within the being. The body is merely a vehicle to travel through this lifetime and enjoy accordingly. The greatest fear is to serve Kṛṣṇa perfectly, but because we have failed to do so, we continue to wander uselessly in time and space. Anxious to come home to the original spiritual consciousness, we search for so many ways, looking for Kṛṣṇa in so many activities. Actually, it is very simple to get back to Kṛṣṇa. Simply by chanting the Holy Name of the Lord one can attain fearlessness.

Walt Whitman is celebrated as an iconic American poet, but few know of the crucial and heroic role he played tending to the wounded and dying in Civil War hospitals. This nonfiction book highlights Whitman’s compassion and teaches an important lesson about empathy, making this a perfect social-emotional learning title for young readers.

In December of 1862, Walt Whitman left Brooklyn, New York, for the war-torn South after seeing his brother's name on a list of wounded Union soldiers. What he found on the battlefields completely changed his life, as he came face to face with not only the wounded, but the dying. Whitman spent the next three years working part-time in Washington, DC, visiting and ministering to soldiers in the city’s many military hospitals. Caring for the sick and dying was not easy, but Whitman was committed to his chosen service. He became known as "the soldiers’ friend," and was bound—in his own way—to save and heal the America he wrote about and loved so deeply.

New York Times–bestselling author Gary Golio brings Whitman’s story and his passion for America to life, complete with quotes from Whitman’s works.
