Mary E. Lowd lives in Oregon with her husband, daughter, son, a variety of cats and dogs, the occasional fish, and zero otters. She spends the majority of her time pretending animals can talk and writing stories about them.
Mary started her first novel at the age of eleven; it bore a striking resemblance to Brian Jacques' Redwall, replete with little woodland animals eating feasts and battling each other with swords. Her next abandoned novel had more in common with The Pride of Chanur by C.J....
